Week five in the Premier League has come and gone, and it was another interesting one, admittedly.

It was a strong week for the home teams, with 8/10 home games won across the division, and no draws with two away wins.

The first team to pick up three points was Liverpool with an impressive 2-1 win away at Chelsea on Friday, whilst there were dominant wins on Saturday for the likes of Arsenal and Manchester City.

Sunday's highlight was certainly Watford's 3-1 victory over Manchester United, Jose Mourinho's team losing their third game in a row.

But, as ever, let's get on with finding out who made it into our Team of the Week

Strong defence lead by Matip and Dann

Jordan Pickford (Sunderland): On the end of a loss again, David Moyes' shining light on Sunday was the performance of 22-year-old Pickford, who again staked his claim for Sunderland's number one jersey. He made fine saves from start to finish, preventing Tottenham Hotspur from scoring anymore than the one they did, including a remarkable save from Erik Lamela right towards the end of the game.

Cedric Soares (Southampton): Claude Puel finally got his first win as Southampton boss on Sunday and right-back Cedric was instrumental in the result. The Portuguese, fresh from winning Euro 2016 this summer, has been pushed for compeition by Cuco Martina. Soares however justified his managers selection with a water tight display at the back. Particular in the second half, when the pacy Jefferson Montero was darting at the Saints defence frequently. Cedric also created the chance for Dusan Tadic who supplied Charlie Austin for the game's only goal.

Joel Matip (Liverpool): The Cameroon international is fast becoming one of the bargain's of the season, having signed on a free from Schalke in the summer. He was superb in the Reds' 2-1 victory away at Chelsea on Friday night, giving the in-form Diego Costa no time at all to play, with a number of excellent tackles, blocks and interceptions throughout.

Scott Dann (Crystal Palace): It was another captain's performance from Crystal Palace's goal scoring centre-back as he guided his team to a comprehensive 4-1 victory over a lacklustre Stoke City side. His goal was another typical powerful header from a Jason Puncheon corner which set the Eagles well on their way to victory. But aside from his goal it was his composure on the ball which benefited the Eagles as they played, at times some terrific football. If Palace are to have a good season you would imagine Dann will be at the centre of it.

Christian Fuchs (Leicester City): An extremely accomplished performance from the Austrian defender, he fially looks to be back to his best. Alongside pttng in an impressive defensive performance, keeping the likes of Andre Gray, Scott Arfield and George Boyd quiet, the former Schalke 04 full-back was excellent in an attacking sense also. Partnering Marc Albrighton seamlessly on the left side, his overlapping runs were a key aspect of the Foxes’ 3-0 victory over Burnley. As a matter of fact, whipping the ball in from a dangerous free-kick, Fuchs managed to find the head of Islam Slimani who nodded home to give the Premier League.

One City star lights up the midfield

James McArthur (Crystal Palace): The underrated Scotsman was in superb form for Palace as they blew away Stoke City at Selhurst Park. The midfielder consistently won the ball back with ease and started several attacks with his non-stop, high-energy pressing style. Seems to play better without Yohan Cabaye next to him as they are both similar players and Sunday afternoon's game was proof of this. McArthur bagged Palace's third - an important goal in the game - after a great piece of skill took two Potters players out of the game before his deflected strike found the back of the net.

Georginio Wijnaldum (Liverpool): There was some confusion over where exactly Wijnaldum would fit into Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool side when he signed this summer, but he shone as part of the midfield three against Chelsea on Friday. Tireless running, excellent linking of the play, he delivered a complete performance to help his side to three points. It shouldn't be forgotten that it was his skill that drew the foul to win a free-kick for the opening goal, either.

Kevin De Bruyne (Manchester City): Fast on track to picking up the Player of the Year award, De Bruyne continued his fine form as Manchester City cruised to another win, at Bournemouth's expense. Scoring the opener with a low free-kick, the Belgian was at the heart of everything City did as they racked up four goals, boss Pep Guardiola hailing his performance as 'amazing'.

The forwards that couldn't be left out...

Nacer Chadli (West Brom): The former Spurs winger raised eyebrows when he became the Baggies' record signing, but showed exactly why Tony Pulis shelled out for his services. For the first hour against West Ham, Chadli helped orchestrate everything good about West Brom and was their key man in the final third. After coolly slotting home his penalty, he unselfishly squared for Rondon's goal before his shot was turned home by McClean for their third. Rondon then returned the favour for Chadli's brace, capping off a superb afternoon's work.

Alex Iwobi (Arsenal): As one of the the shining stars of Arsenal's youth set-up, Alex Iwobi continues to force his way into Arsene Wenger's starting XI with lucas perez making an uncertain debut and with Olivier Giroud out with a toe injury, Alexis Sanchez started up top for The Gunners, allowing the Nigerian midfielder another start. Having a goal poached after his shot deflected in off the Chilean, Iwobi further asssisted Sanchez as Wenger's men ran out 4-1 winners versus Mike Phelan's 10-man Hull. Iwobi's poise on the ball gives Arsenal a cutting edge and despite the likely return of Aaron Ramsey versus Chelsea, Iwobi may be difficult to usurp in Arsenal's starting lineup.

Islam Slimani (Leicester City): Two goals on your Premier League debut, an impressive performance and congratulations from your new boss Claudio Ranieri - could it get any better for Islam Slimani? After signing for Leicester on the last day of the summer transfer window from Sporting Lisbon, expectations were high for the Algerian’s debut at the King Power Stadium and he didn’t disappoint. Notching his first two goals for the Foxes thanks to two close range headers; one a powerful effort in the closing stages in the first half and the second a predatory finish from inside the six-yard area, the prolific forward looks to be a great acquisition. Also displaying strong running both on and off the ball and an excellent ability to pick pass, the 28-year-old looks to be a great foil for strike partner Jamie Vardy and the two already seem set to be forging a promising partnership.
