Tottenham Hotspur right-back Kyle Walker has signed a new five-year deal at White Hart Lane which will keep him at the club until 2021.

The right-back signed for Spurs back in 2009 from Sheffield United and has made over 150 appearances for the North London outfit, and he played a huge part in the team's third-place finish in the Premier League last season.

Walker 'honoured' to sign new contract

Walker has been in sensational form for the Lilywhites at the beginning of this season - already registering two assists in five games - and fully merits his new contract that he has been given.

Walker joins Danny Rose, Dele Alli, Eric Dier, Christian Eriksen, Tom Carroll and Harry Winks in signing new long-term deals at the club in the past few weeks. He expressed his delight at signing the new contract, admitting "it is a great honour" for him to extend his contract at the club and he wanted to say "thank you to the chairman and manager for putting their faith in me".

The right-back continued, explaining "I have been here since I was 19 and have loved every minute of it" as Spurs have continued to grow year on year. Walker did say that "we have not won as much as I wanted" but he is glad that team managed to get back into the Champions League which was one box that he wanted to "tick" but he hopes he can "tick a few more" in the coming years at the cub.

Vertonghen and Kane likely to be the next to sign new contracts

During his time at Spurs, Walker has improved so much that he has also become a regular member of the England set-up, earning his 20th cap when he started Sam Allardyce's first game in Slovakia earlier on in the month.

It is expected that Jan Vertonghen and Harry Kane will be the next players to sign improved contracts which is more good news for the club.

Spurs will be hoping to maintain their unbeaten start to the Premier League season when they face Middlesbrough on Saturday afternoon at the Riverside.
