West Bromwich Albion boss Tony Pulis has spoken of his immediate relief at the point his side took away from The Potteries on Saturday.

Marking his 1,000th game as a manager, The Baggies scored a stoppage time leveller at his former employers Stoke City, via a headed goal from Salomon Rondon.

After Joe Allen gave The Potters a second half lead, Mark Hughes looked set to finally record their first win of the campaign and Stoke's first points at home.

West Brom however spoiled Hughes' plans however, but Pulis feels the point was merited.

'There wasn't much in the game'

Speaking in his post-match press conference, Pulis said, "We haven't got the array of talent that Stoke have got but the players don't stop."

The Albion boss went on to state that he would have been "really disappointed" to have taken nothing away from the Bet365 Stadium, as he felt "there wasn't much in the game".

During the match there was a potential flashpoint, when Potters defender Ryan Shawcross appeared to elbow Gareth McAuley. Pulis however was keen to play down the situation.

"No, I don't think so", he told the Birmingham Mail. "The header where he catches Gareth. Gareth actually heads the side of his shoulder.

Pulis focused on Sunderland trip

For West Brom, attention now switches to the last game before the international break and a trip to Wearside. The Black Cats threw away a two-nil lead versus Crystal Palace at the weekend and lost courtesy of a last-gasp Christian Benteke effort.

David Moyes' side currently prop up the Premier League table, but Tony Pulis will be treating the trip to The Stadium of Light like any other.

"I'll be taking a video home of that [game] to have a look. That's management really." He finished, "You just get onto the next one."
