Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera has called on the team to avoid a repeat of last month's performance after the international break if they are to revive their Premier League title chase.

Before the break last month, United won three straight games under Jose Mourinho but afterwards, they then slipped to three successive defeats which need not be repeated this time around given the strong fixtures the club have after this break.

Herrera calls for consistency after the international break

United first travel to Anfield to play Liverpool before hosting Fenerbahce in the UEFA Europa League three days later before a trip to Chelsea after that. HHerrera has issued a warning to the team to not repeat their mistakes.

Herrera said, "we lost three games in a row," after the last break "so we have to avoid that," this time around in order to keep up with the pacesetters at the top of the Premier League.

The midfielder says that "we know we have to come back very strong," as having to play "two very tough Premier League games away," to teams such as "Liverpool and Chelsea," will require the whole team producing very strong performances.

Herrera was disappointed after the draw against Stoke City at the weekend after the team created so many chances but failed to score but says that "in football you never know," that the team could go to "Liverpool and create two chances and yet win the game," as this is how football goes and "we have to accept that."

Herrera rewarded for great performances at United

Under Mourinho, Herrera has now become one of the first names on the teamsheet after not starting the season in the starting lineup and his performances have seen him earn his first senior call-up to the Spain squad.

The important thing now for the midfielder is to keep up his great form when he comes back after the break as it looks like Mourinho has finally stumbled upon the best available partner for Paul Pogba in the middle of the park.
