Sunderland manager, David Moyes has said that he is not worried by the increasing list of injuries at the Stadium of Light, ahead of their clash with Stoke City.

Not that worried

It hasn't been the best of starts for the Scotsman, and the injuries have only added to that, with nine first-team players out with injury ahead of their trip to the Bet365 Stadium.

They have also been a late blow with Lamine Kone and Jason Denayer proving serious doubts ahead of their basement battle with Mark Hughes' side, but Moyes admitted that he isn't worried with the injury list.

"I'd have been more worried if they had been picking them up in training, but they have been more in games," he told his pre-match press conference.

He continued, "But the one thing it does it means that lots of young players are getting an opportunity here and also while the squad is small just now, it's a chance to form a bit of toughness, a bit of togetherness and show they can be a team."

Win is a win

It is set to be a crucial six-pointer at the Bet 365 Stadium, with neither side yet to collect a win in the league this season, and Moyes said that he doesn't care how Sunderland's first win comes around.

"I want us to play well - playing well and performing will lead to good results. But I would take a win and if it means doing that, then I'll have to find a way to do it, whatever I can." Moyes told Sky Sports News HQ, "We would love to get a feel-good factor running through the club, I'd love to get that first win under our belts so that we could start to look up."

Moyes concluded, "But while we are where we are at the moment, we are struggling, so we have to dig in and we have to try to pick up points. If it's one, if it's three, we have to pick up as many points as we can at this moment in time."

Sunderland AFC will take on Stoke City at the Bet365 Stadium on Saturday, October 15 with kick-off at 3pm BST.
