Sunderland AFC manager David Moyes, has once again shared his disappointment as the Black Cats' search for their first league win continues following a 2-0 defeat to Stoke City.
Could have been better
Moyes headed to the Bet365 Stadium in desperate need of the three points as they faced off against Mark Hughes' side who were also without a win ahead of kick-off.
However it was the Potters that came out on top, with two first-half goals from Joe Allen giving them the win, and Moyes shared his disappointment with the defeat.
"The second goal did finish it off and I was really disappointed because we had brought an unbelievable support here who really got right behind the players," He told Sky Sports.
"I've got to praise them for the way they got behind the team throughout the second half because we're 2-0 down at half-time."
He continued: "I didn't think we played any better in the second half, we didn't concede any goals but I don't think we played any better."
More injury woes
Injuries have hindered Moyes' start to his tenure at the Stadium of Light, and it got worse when Patrick van Aanholt limping off in the first-half, but Moyes praised the return of Steven Pienaar and Victor Anichebe.
He said: "Pienaar in the games he has played for us has played very well and Anichebe coming in even in the short period in the game gave us something to hit up front which we've lacked."
Moyes concluded: "We've had injuries but they are injuries that have come in games, not in training so it's something that happens and part of the job.
"It looks as if Van Aaholt has got a bit of an abductor strain so they'll assess it tomorrow and check how he is."
Sunderland's next fixture sees them take on West Ham United at the London Stadium on Saturday, October 22 with kick-off at 3pm BST.
