In what promises to be a fantastic encounter on Monday evening in the Premier League between Liverpool and Manchester United at Anfield, Jose Mourinho has a few selection dilemmas ahead of the game.

The Portuguese boss revealed in his pre-match press conference that Luke Shaw and Henrik Mkhitaryan are both fit and available for the game after missing the last few games with an injury.

It means that Mourinho will only be without Phil Jones for the game as the defender continues to recover from a knee injury he picked up in training a few weeks ago.

It means for the first time this season the United boss has a lot of players to choose from for the game but will he keep faith with his players who won three of the last four games before the international break?

Back five to remain the same

David de Gea will once again start in goal as he has done in all of the Premier League games this season and he will be hoping to get over the mistake he made in the last game against Stoke City. Antonio Valencia is likely once again to start at right back like he has done all season.

Eric Bailly has been so impressive this season since joining the club and is likely to be joined once again at centre back by Chris Smalling, who has won his place back in the side since Daley Blind moved to left back.

Blind is likely to be given the nod at left-back once again even though Shaw is fit again to play due to the lack of match fitness he has after a few weeks out.

Pogba and Herrera key in midfield battle

Paul Pogba will once again play in midfield and will look to leave his mark on the game after regaining confidence with France over the International break. Ander Herrera has impressed a lot since coming back into the team in recent weeks and Mourinho is likely to start him once again as his style of play will be key against a team like Liverpool.

Martial and Lingard to give the team pace on the wings

Further forward though is much tougher to predict as it depends on what way Mourinho will go. Jesse Lingard is likely to start the game on the right wing given his work rate which will be important against Liverpool. Juan Mata should keep his place in the number ten role after impressing since getting the chance which means Wayne Rooney will have to settle for a place on the bench.

Anthony Martial came on against Stoke last time out and showed that he could be getting back to his best so he could start ahead of Marcus Rashford, who could be important coming on from the bench. Zlatan Ibrahimovic will start once again up front on his own and will be looking to show what he is all about in such a big game.

Manchester United predicted lineup: (4-2-3-1) De Gea; Valencia, Bailly, Smalling, Blind; Pogba, Herrera; Lingard, Mata, Martial; Ibrahimovic.
