Burnley face a difficult challenge as they play host to an Everton side who have enjoyed an excellent start to the season.
Everton pose a prolific attacking threat
The Merseyside club currently sit in sixth position and will pose questions to a struggling Burnley side all over the pitch. The hosts were luck to come away from St Mary's last weekend with just a 3-1 defeat after Southampton fired a league record 34 shots at Tom Heaton's goal.
Everton are likely to pose a similar threat and will not be as forgiving with Belgian striker Romelo Lukaku leading the line. With six goals to his name, Burnley will have to tighten up their defence if they are going to thwart the powerful front man.
Another concern for the hosts is the form of new signing Yannick Bolasie. The winger has now assisted three goals for Lukaku as their bond continues to grow and will look to pick up similar positions to Dusan Tadic and Nathan Redmond who tore Burnley apart from wide areas last weekend.
Battles in the engine room
Even if Burnley are able to retain possession during periods of the match, it is unlikely to last long with the league's worst record of maintaining the ball. Such a task will become even more difficult in the middle of the pitch as they take on two of the best tacklers in the top flight, namely Idrissa Gueye and Gareth Barry.
Gueye topped the tackles chart last season for Aston Villa and is continuing the same trend for his new club at an average of 5.4 per match, whilst the experienced Barry sits seventh with 3.8.
The home side will also have to be wary of set pieces against an Everton side who have already netted four this season. Considering three of the last four goals Burnley have conceded have come from corners, Sean Dyche is likely to have worked hard in this area on the training ground.
The hosts will be boosted by the knowledge that all seven of their points this season have come at home. Yet their main creative force Steven Defour is out injured, whilst most prolific goalscorer Andre Gray serves the last game of his suspension.
It looks like it could be a very long afternoon for the newly promoted side.
