Mauricio Pochettino has insisted that come Saturday lunchtime, things won't be as easy for his Tottenham Hotspur side as they found them last season against AFC Bournemouth.
Two of the most impressive victories of Spurs' 2015-16 season came home and away against Bournemouth, as the Lilywhites won 8-1 on aggregate over the two games, triumphing 5-1 away from home firstly before securing a 3-0 home win later in the season.
A different game, insists Pochettino
Now, with the two teams set to meet on Saturday, manager Pochettino has insisted that he expects things to be different this time around, saying "every game is different, our mentality is that this will be a very tough game."
He'll be without Harry Kane, who bagged five against the Cherries last season, for the game, confirming that the striker remains out with an ankle problem. However, there is good news regarding Kane, Pochettino revealing "today [Thursday] he started to touch the ball a little bit and did some exercise with our sports scientists."
Good vibes for unbeaten Lilywhites
Still, Spurs are favourites for the game even without Kane, and will hope to continue their unbeaten start to the league season, as a win would send them top for at least a few hours.
Speaking about the start his side have made to the season, Pochettino that he's "proud of the team and the players," but the only important thing now is that they "take three points against Bournemouth."
Going into some more detail about the momentum and good spirit around the club at the moment, the Argentine spoke of the "good atmosphere" around the place, adding that the players are always "very positive with the responsibility [of being expected to win."
“The season is long and we’re involved in many competitions so we have to be positive and to believe because only with that mentality can we achieve big things at the end," said the manager.
