Watford forward Isaac Success is a doubt for the Hornets game with Swansea City on Saturday after he missed training this week.

The summer signing is suffering from a muscle injury and he may well miss out on the important clash with the Swans.

It was only last weekend that the Nigerian powerhouse made his first start for the Vicarage Road outfit in Sunday’s 1-0 win over Middlesbrough.

Head coach Walter Mazzarri told the press that the forward did not train with the squad ahead of their game, and he “might not be available”.

“After I substituted him (on Sunday) because the physio told me during the game he was already hurting. I tried to keep him on as much as I could during the game,” he told the Watford Observer.

The Italian told of how the physios checked out the player after the game at the Riverside was complete and that he could not train for the days after.

He added: “He has been having problems in the upper side of the right leg. But I’m not a physio so I can’t confirm 100 per cent for you.”

Ighalo took being dropped well

Success was brought into the side to bring something different going forward, but if the Nigerian misses out this weekend, it will ensure an instant return for Odion Ighalo.

Mazzarri, who took over in the summer, said that Ighalo took being dropped as a “true professional” and is keen to earn a starting spot.

“To all the players I tend to speak to them always face to face,” he said. “I did it to Odion for the whole week prior to the game and as a great professional that he is, he understood it very well.”

Mazzarri stated that Ighalo is wanting to prove his worth to the team, and a win for Watford against the Swans would prove to be vital as they are wanting a top-half finish this season.
