Manchester United will be hoping that normality will resume in the Premier League on Saturday, but will face a tough test when they welcome Sean Dyche's Burnley to the Theatre of Dreams.

Looking for the bounce back

It has been a so-so start to Jose Mourinho's tenure at Old Trafford, as the Portuguese coach led his side into their biggest week of the season so far. Things looked on the up, after the goalless draw with bitter rivals Liverpool, and the 4-1 demolition of Fenerbahce in the Europa League.

However their hard work came tumbling down in a big way on Mourinho's return to Stamford Bridge, goals from Pedro, Gary Cahill, Eden Hazard and N'Golo Kante gave Chelsea a comfortable 4-0 win, and a very unhappy return for the special one.

The opportunity for the week to end disaster was there, as they took on Pep Guardiola's Manchester City in the last-16 of the EFL Cup. However it was United that came out on top, with the single goal from Juan Mata giving them the win, and will take that confidence into Saturday's clash to rejuvenate their league form.

Slowly but surely

It hasn't been a stellar return to the top-flight for Burnley, but it seems that the Claret's have the opportunity to turn a corner as they head to Manchester on Saturday. Dyche's side currently sit in 14th, with just two victories before the visit of Ronald Koeman's Everton to Turf Moor last Saturday, and they added to the wins over Liverpool and Watford.

Sam Vokes gave the home side the lead, before Yannick Bolasie's equaliser just before the hour mark. However Scott Arfield's 90th-minute strike gave them all three points, but Dyche told the media that he is still wary of the trip to United.

"For all the noise that's been made about the ups and downs of Manchester United over the past couple of weeks they're still a fine side," he said. "I look at the manager, the club, the players they've got and they're still a super strong group of people operating at the highest level."

Dyche concluded: "I'd be very surprised if this group of players is not still a very, very strong group and a group to be reckoned with over the course of the season."

Team news

Mourinho suffered yet another injury blow ahead of this clash, with Eric Bailly been confirmed to be out for two months with a knee injury, and joins fellow defender Phil Jones on the absentee list. It is expected that Wayne Rooney will return having sat out midweek, along with the possible return of winger Henrikh Mkhitaryan. The former Borussia Dortmund forward was left out of the EFL Cup squad, despite been declared by Mourinho as fit and ready to go.

Dyche will welcome back the return of Andre Gray, following his suspension, while both George Boyd and Stephen Ward expected to be fit. However their will be a late fitness test for midfielder Steven Defour, who is struggling with a hamstring problem.

Manchester United will host Burnley at Old Trafford on Saturday, October 29 with kick-off at 3pm BST.
