Kampl's goal decided it, finishing well past Lloris after a period of Bayer pressure. Tottenham did threaten through Dier, who hit the bar, and could have had a penalty, but their perforamance didn't merit anything.
That's it, Tottenham lose again at Wembley in the Champions League and they now face a monumental struggle to qualify for the knockout round. They're four points behind Monaco, and two behind Bayer, with a trip to France next up. If they lose away at Monaco next time out and Bayer beat CSKA, they'll be out.

90+3: Nkoudou bounds down the left and fires a cross towards Sissoko, but it's a little too high for the Frenchman.
90: Five minutes of stoppage time. Spurs don't look at all like scoring.
88: Winks swings in a free-kick, Nkoudou onto it but he loses the ball before fouling Hernandez.
85: Record signing Kevin Volland on for Leverkusen.
84: The ball breaks for Davies, the crowd cry 'shoooot' and he does, wide.
83: Off the bar! Dier steps up to take the free-kick and hits it brilliantly, the ball cracking off the underside of the bar before Leverkusen smother away Janssen's rebound.
81: Alli fouled on the edge of the area, chance for Spurs. However, Eriksen isn't on the pitch to take it.
80: This is comfortable for Leverkusen, in all honesty. They look more likely to score a second than Tottenham do to get an equaliser, Toprak heading just over from an outswinging corner.
73: Next change, Nkoudou coming on for Son. Can he make an impact for the first time in a Spurs shirt? His side need him to, desperately.
70: Brandt off, replaced by Calhanoglu.
66: Tottenham change, Winks on for Eriksen.
65: It's been coming, in all honesty. Spurs allowed the ball to be played around them in front of the defence, Aranguiz unleashing a shot that was deflected through to Kampl, who showed composure to slot the ball past Lloris. 0-1!
GOAL! Kampl puts Leverkusen ahead!
61: Shocking mistake from Spurs as he gets no power on a header back to Dier, Mehmedi intercepting and teeing up Hernandez, who first has a shot blocked by Vertonghen before Lloris saves well at the second attempt.
60: Effort! Walker driving through the heart of the Leverkusen defence, his cross-cum-shot isn't met by Janssen and rolls wide of the post.
55: 85,512 makes this the record attendance for an English side playing at home in Europe, just edging out the crowd that Spurs got in for the Monaco game.
48: Much better from Spurs, Alli tripped by Toprak just inside the area, but no decision given! Eriksen continues with the play, shooting wide. Replays make it look like that was a poor decision from the referee.
45: Back underway!
That wasn't great from Spurs, with Bayer the better side, another nervy display so far at Wembley from Tottenham. They'll hope to improve in the second half, they might have to in order to take something from this one.

45+1: Spurs have the ball in the net as Alli hammers in a rebound from Janssen's shot, but the whistle had gone way earlier as Janssen fouled Tah.
43: So close! That's superb defending from Jan Vertonghen, sliding in to deny Brandt after Walker had made a costly error in the area, witht the Belgian again on hand to deflect Hernandez's follow up out for a corner, just wide of the post. A nervy mistake that sums up Tottenham's first half.
39: Brandt, with an opportunity to shoot, opts to play in Hernandez inside the area, Wanyama across brilliantly to intercept.
33: Eriksen driving forward from deep with space to attack, shooting from around 20 yards out, a central effort beaten away by Leno.
31: There's that change, an attacking move with Dembele off for Janssen. Son out to the left, Eriksen dropping deeper rather than Alli. Elsewhere, Monaco are 2-0 up through Falcao.
29: Ah, now it makes a little more sense, Dembele spotted limping.
28: Vincent Janssen is getting ready, will he be brought on after just half an hour? It's not worked for Spurs so far, but that would be a really early change.
22: A momentary gasp of panic from the Leverkusen bench as Leno spills a fairly routine cross, however Tah is on hand to sweep the ball away.
16: Half a chance for Sissoko to get an assist as he spins away from Wendell, but again his final ball is lacking.
14: Elsewhere in the group, Monaco have taken an early lead against CSKA, putting them on eight points.
13: Wendell with the chance to deliver after Wanyama fouls in his own half, but it's an easy one for Lloris to claim.
11: Dele Alli sets Sissoko away with a lovely flick down the right flank, but the Frenchman can't get his cross right. Blocked.
10: Better from the hosts after a somewhat flustured start, in which Leverkusen put them under a heap of pressure. No shots on goal, yet.
3: Shaky start from Spurs, Lloris beating Hernandez in his own area, only for a sloppy pass to be spooned up in the air by Vertonghen, the home defence just about clearing the danger.

The two teams are out, the Champions League anthem rings around Wembley, it's almost time to get underway!
Just under 10 minutes until kick-off now, given the state of play in the group, a win would be huge for Spurs. However, a draw is a must as they look to stay in a positive position.
No Kane in the squad, and Vincent Janssen only makes the bench as Son is given the nod up front, with a fairly defensive looking midfield selected by Pochettino.

We've got some confirmed team news in! No Kane in the Tottenham squad.
Spurs will be hoping to be boosted by the return of Harry Kane tonight, with Kane having missed the last two European games with an ankle problem picked up during a Premier League win over Sunderland, a game in which he scored. Mauricio Pochettino revealed that he's 50/50 for the game earlier in the week, so the striker may get on the bench. Toby Alderweireld is extremely likely to be out with a knee injury.
It's Bayer who come into the game off the back of a weekend win, having triumphed 2-1 away at Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga, with late goals from Admir Mehmedi and Tin Jedvag giving them some confidence coming into this game. Spurs drew their third consecutive Premier League game, held 1-1 by Leicester City at White Hart Lane.
Tottenham are using Wembley for their Champions League home games this season whilst White Hart Lane is renovated during certain midweek's. It's been suggested that it's a disadvantage, and they'll have 'six away games' to a certain extent, an idea that was fuelled even more after the defeat to Monaco. However, there will be over 70,000 'home' fans in tonight supporting Tottenham, hoping to create an atmosphere that can spur their side to three points.
Bayer are unbeaten so far, but haven't won a game yet as three draws leaves them third in the group, and in need of at least a point tonight to keep their qualification hopes in good light. They started with a high scoring 2-2 draw against CSKA, before drawing 1-1 away in France to Monaco, then of course being held at home by Spurs.
It's been a tricky campaign so far for Tottenham after making a welcome return to European football, with the Lilywhites having been on the back-foot since losing their opening game 2-1 at home to Monaco. They responded with an excellent away win in Russia, Son Heung-Min scoring the only goal against CSKA, before some inspired Hugo Lloris goalkeeping secured a 0-0 draw away at Bayer a few weeks ago.
This group, Group E, is extremely tight as it stands, with no side having ran away with proceedings after three games. Monaco top the group on five points, Spurs second with four, Leverkusen third on three points and CSKA Moscow bottom of the table with two points. It's all so close that by the end of the night, fourth placed CSKA could be top!
