Sean Dyche went on the offensive in his press conference before hosting Crystal Palace, suggesting his Burnley side are looking to get points from every Premier League encounter they face, after criticism of their most recent performance.

"We have got results from some really powerful teams"

The former central defender was quick to point to his team's excellent home record where they have won ten of their eleven points so far this season. He explained: “We’ve generally got a good home record, we are strong at home and that’s been recognised".

He added that those points have come against some of the Premier League's more elite teams, saying: “We have got results from some really powerful teams and it’s a good belief raiser when we can get points from those teams."

Victories against Liverpool and Everton, along with a draw last weekend against Manchester United have been some of Burnley's finer moments so far this season.

"There's a lot more work to do and we know that"

Yet despite Burnley's good run of form, Dyche is well aware that it can change in an instant at this level of the game. He explained: “We are aware of where we are in the league but we know how hard it is and we know that form can stop quickly".

Avoiding relegation remains the focus as the manager suggested "we aren’t looking at the table and thinking it’s a done deal because it’s not. There’s a lot more work to do and we know that."

Dyche also hopes to add further dimensions to his tactics, suggesting "we want to operate in different ways and to be more flexible in the way we play."

He hopes that this will lead to a continuation of earning points throughout the season, as he said: “We need to keep finding ways to win and hopefully we can do just that."

He will be praying they can do just that against Crystal Palace at Turf Moor on Saturday.
