Manchester United defender Daley Blind has said that the Red Devils will look to make things right against Swansea City on Sunday, after their 2-1 defeat to Fenerbahce on Thursday evening.
Need to put things right
United's recent woes continued on Thursday at the Şükrü Saracoğlu Stadium in their Europa League tie. United were knocked for six just two minutes in with Moussa Sow's overhead kick, which was followed by Jeremain Lens' spectacular free-kick just before the hour mark.
Wayne Rooney grabbed a consolation just before the end, yet it proved to be to no avail, and Blind insists that the side will look to make up for their poor performance against Bob Bradley's side on Sunday afternoon.
"The atmosphere in the dressing room is down after that but we must dust ourselves off and stand up," he told MUTV. "We need to look at ourselves and try and put it right in the next game."
The Dutchman added: "I’d rather the next game [in any competition] was tomorrow so we can put things right but we will make sure we are ready for Sunday."
Will never happen again
It was a spectacular opening goal from Dick Advocaat's side, as Sow's excellent effort from just inside the area looped over David De Gea, and Blind believes that the early goal really affected the game plan of Jose Mourinho's side.
"It was tough conceding the early goal - he won’t score a goal like that again in his life," he said. "That forced us to push forward which left us at the risk of a counter-attack. That ended up leading to their second goal."
He admitted that Rooney's goal came too late in the piece, and that "Maybe if the goal had come earlier we could have done more."
Manchester United will take on Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium on Sunday, November 6 with kick-off at 3pm BST.
