That's all from us for today as Forest underline their promotion potential with victory over Huddersfield.

There is another full fixture list to look forward to in midweek - keep following for news, previews, live commentaries and reports from the Championship run-in.

16:16a year ago

Nottingham Forest now look odds-on for a play-off spot, as they overtake Fulham on goal difference and move into fourth place with the victory. They are now seven points inside the play-offs with seven games to go.

Huddersfield are now in real trouble. Results elsewhere put them in the bottom three ahead of the game and that's where they will remain for now. With seven games left to save their season, there weren't too many positives to take from this.

The late goal does little to change the story of the match, as Nottingham Forest pick up three crucial points.

15:25a year ago

50' O'Brien can find no way to turn past the ever-dependable Cash and the best he can get is a corner. It almost results in a goal though as Pritchard's cross is flicked on by King and hits the bar!

Final thoughts

Huddersfield boss Danny Cowley wants a response following last week's defeat to Wigan, as he told Sky Sports:

"We're hoping for an improved performance. We were disappointed with our levels last Saturday. We'd worked very hard going into the Wigan game but we didn't perform on the day and we have to accept that has come our way.

"Like we've done numerous times this season already, we have to respond to the disappointment that we had."

14:08a year ago

Final thoughts

Nottingham Forest head coach Sabri Lamouchi said to Sky Sports: "There is no time to enjoy, no time to complain, just to focus on the 90 minutes and try to get maximum points."

Championship result

The final whistle has been blown in the lunchtime kick-off at Ashton Gate, with Sheffield Wednesday picking up a 2-1 win over Bristol City.

Connor Wickham headed the Owls into an early lead and Massimo Luongo fired in a second before Nahki Wells pulled a goal back, but it wasn't enough for the Robins.

The result sees yet another play-off challenger slip up and makes today an even bigger opportunity for Nottingham Forest - they will be seven points clear of seventh place if they can win.

13:52a year ago

Huddersfield came out on top when the two sides last met in December, with skipper Christopher Schindler and Steve Mounie scoring in a 2-1 win at the John Smith’s Stadium.

Forest were the winners in the last clash at the City Ground though, winning 2-0 in April 2017.

Terriers in the relegation zone

Yesterday's action was not so kind on Huddersfield Town, who slipped back into the bottom three as their rivals find form.

Wigan defeated Blackburn, Charlton beat QPR and Middlesbrough got the better of Stoke to climb up the charts, with Hull's draw at Birmingham edging them above the Terriers on goals scored.

That means they go into this game in 22nd, and the two sides below are still fighting too with Luton beating Swansea and Barnsley getting a point against Millwall.

Forest aim to cement play-off spot

The weekend's results have been relatively kind to Nottingham Forest, who are currently fifth.

Fulham's defeat at Leeds means they can leap above the Cottagers with victory today, although a top-two place would still look quite unlikely.

They have a four-point buffer to the chasing pack which they can extend here, after Cardiff defeated Preston while challengers Blackburn and Swansea both lost.

13:24a year ago

Team news: Huddersfield Town

There are three changes for Huddersfield as they look to improve on last week's defeat of Wigan and escape the relegation zone.

Demeaco Duhaney makes only his third appearance at right-back in place of Danny Simpson, who will be leaving the club at the end of the month.

Andy King and Alex Pritchard replace Juninho Bacuna and Emile Smith Rowe. Fraizer Campbell makes a return from injury on the bench.

13:22a year ago

Team news: Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest have made just one change as they look for a win which would take them above Fulham into fourth place in the Championship table.

Ben Watson returns from injury to replace Ryan Yates in the only difference to the team which started their draw with Sheffield Wednesday last weekend.

Cowley confident of response

Huddersfield manager Danny Cowley is confident of a response following their disappointing restart against Wigan. He said: “We’ve prepared really well, and I trust in them (the players) as people. When we have had bad days we’ve always responded. We worked hard this week to try and find the right response come Sunday.

"I have huge faith in myself, Nicky (Cowley, assistant), the management team and the players. We are determined. I’ve got the most trust I’ve had in this group since I’ve been at the football club.

"There's no hiding place from last Saturday. We take the criticism. We will keep it close and use it to drive us.

"We want to show a true representation of us on Sunday."

Lamouchi backs Forest 'quality'

Looking ahead to the game, Forest head coach Sabri Lamouchi said: “We have had a good week, I have liked the attitude from the players with quality. We have to keep going, after the draw at Sheffield, and we have to focus on Sunday.

“Huddersfield will be a difficult game to play, we have to start in the right way, we need to focus in the best way to concede the minimum and take the maximum points.

“They have some good players but we do as well. We have to focus on us; we are confident, very focused and we have quality."

15:40a year ago

Predicted line-ups

Nottingham Forest: Samba; Cash, Figueiredo, Worrall, Ribeiro; Yates, Watson; Lolley, Silva, Ameobi, Grabban.

Huddersfield: Lossl; Duhaney, Stankovic, Schindler, Toffolo; O’Brien, Chalobah; Willock, Bacuna, Grant; Campbell.

Team news: Huddersfield Town

Huddersfield are hopeful that strikers Steve Mounie (quad) and Fraizer Campbell (achilles) will both be fit after missing out last weekend.

Emile Smith Rowe had illness ahead of that Wigan game and Juninho Bacuna suffered cramp during it, but both are fine for this week. Tommy Elphick (knee ligaments) remains a long-term absentee.

15:37a year ago

Team news: Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest reported no injury concerns ahead of the game, with both Samba Sow (knee) and Ben Watson (knock) back available again.

One unavailable player will be loan winger Adama Diakhaby, who is ineligible to play against his parent club.

15:36a year ago

Terriers in trouble

The points will be just as important for Huddersfield, who are right in the eight-team battle at the bottom with a second successive relegation a real possibility.

They will need to improve on their first performance after the restart, after losing 2-0 at home to relegation rivals Wigan last week.

15:34a year ago

Forest need to hold play-off spot

Nottingham Forest remain in the play-offs but with a host of sides pushing to break into the top six, three points will be very important here.

They missed out on two in stoppage time on their return to action last weekend, as Sheffield Wednesday came back for a 1-1 draw.

15:31a year ago

Kick-off time

Nottingham Forest vs Huddersfield Town will be played at the City Ground, Nottingham, with kick-off at 2.15pm.
