Leicester City host Chelsea on Sunday afternoon with the opportunity to reach the FA Cup semi-final for the first time since 1982.

It will be the third time in eight years that the two clubs have met at this stage of the competition, with Chelsea coming out on top the previous two times.

VAVEL Leicester goes back to 2015 when the Foxes defeated Chelsea at King Power Stadium on spectacular form.

Vardy and Mahrez partnership

Jose Mourinho's side made the trip to face Leicester both teams with contrasting forms.

The Foxes had just defeated Swansea City 3-0 the weekend before, whilst Chelsea suffered a shock 1-0 home defeat to AFC Bournemouth.

After 34 minutes, Jamie Vardy swept in Riyad Mahrez's cross to increase the pressure on Mourinho and lift Leicester above Arsenal into first place.

Three minutes after the interval, Mahrez doubled the hosts lead with a brilliant solo curling effort. After Marc Albrighton's cross-field pass, Mahrez jinxed and turned Cesar Azpilicueta before beating Thibaut Courtois.

Late scare for the future champions

Mourinho brought on Cesc Fabregas, Loic Remy and Pedro in a bid to salvage a result in the second half.

Remy beat Kasper Schmeichel with a smart header after 77 minutes and played a big part as Chelsea pressed for an equaliser. However, Leicester's resolute back four remained firm and managed to hold on to their lead.

Mourinho was sacked three days later, despite leading the club to the Premier League title seven months prior.
