Brighton and Hove Albion manager Graham Potter was proud of his side's character and determination despite a 3-0 loss to Manchester United.
Mason Greenwood gave United the lead before Bruno Fernandes' brace consigned the Seagulls to a first defeat in eight games.
Potter's men remain 15th in the Premier League table on 33 points, six points clear of the relegation zone with six matches remaining.
'I am really proud of how my team kept going'
Despite the scoreline, Potter was pleased with how Brighton responded following Fernandes' second and United's third.
"We played against a really good side this evening and they were the better team on the night", he said. "But we stuck at it and our response in the second half, after the third goal, was really good. Perhaps we deserved a goal for that, but the better side took the three points."
"I am really proud of how my team kept going in the game though and there are definitely positives going into the weekend game at (Norwich City) and beyond.
"We made some changes at the break to freshen things up and give us a new idea. I thought we started the second half well and then got undone on the counter-attack which ultimately decided the match.
'It was a tough evening'
"Against a top side you know the opposition will always be dangerous if the game opens up a bit and spaces begin to appear. It was a tough evening but one we'll improve from."
Despite losing for the first time in eight games and being seven points clear of the drop zone, Potter isn't taking anything for granted as the Seagulls visit bottom side Norwich.
"We still have work to do, but we don't need reminding of that and we knew that was the situation before tonight. It doesn't change of anything from our point of view, we go into the next game against Norwich ready to fight again."
