Mourinho on Everton

Jose Mourinho has spoke about tonight's opponents ahead of the game tonight.

Speaking to the club website, Mourinho said:

“Everton are doing well. They have two victories and a draw, so seven points out of three matches. They are now involved in the fight for Europa League positions. They have everything for that. They have the coach, they have the players, so I consider them to be a high-level team and a difficult match for us.”

Holgate: "Everton are part of who I am"

Centre-back Mason Holgate has been speaking about his recent contract signing ahead of tonight's game with Spurs at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Speaking to the club's website, Holgate said:

Personally, I feel I’ve benefited from playing consistently in the team. I’ve always said that playing regularly is my aim, to show what I can do.

Going on loan to West Brom last year and learning to deal with the consistency of playing every week helped me out a lot, not just physically but mentally.

It’s made me feel more ready for when I have had a consistent run of games with Everton.

I signed a new five-year contract with the Club in March. To be rewarded for my hard work and have that show of faith was massive for me.

This is my fifth year at Everton. It’s part of who I am now.

I know everything about the Club, all the people here.

Everton - Team news

Spurs - Team news

Dele Alli is the only injury concern for Tottenham ahead of tomorrow night's game.

Speaking to his club's website, Jose Mourinho said:

“There was something today in training with Dele, but when I say ‘something’ it’s because I don’t think it’s big, and because I don’t really know what it is. The bad thing of a press conference 48 hours before the game is that there is still a training session tomorrow, so you cannot know what I do not know, if he’s available or not. If you ask me at this moment, I would say that he will be available, but, I don’t know.

“Apart from that, nothing from the game (Sheffield United, Thursday night) and Japhet Tanganga will, I believe, train with the team from next week.”

Spurs will be looking for a better performance than their last outing where they went down 3-1 to Sheffield United. That result and a victory for North-London rivals Arsenal saw Spurs drop to 10th in the table, seriously denting any hopes of a top four finish.
