Southampton will be looking to keep up their fine form as they face-off against last season’s champions Manchester City.

A 2-0 loss against Arsenal is the only blemish on the Saints’ otherwise perfect record since the resumption of the Premier League season.

They will be trying to bridge the five point gap between themselves and the top 10.

Manchester City meanwhile will be looking to follow up their brilliant 4-0 win against champions-elect Liverpool.

  • Head to head

When the two teams met in November, a late winner from Kyle Walker sunk the Saints, who had gone ahead through James Ward-Prowse’s early strike.

Southampton have lost their last seven games against City and haven’t beaten the Manchester club since May 2016.

  • Team News

Sofiane Boufal will miss his third game for Southampton as he continues to struggle with a thigh injury that he sustained in training.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, who is likely to leave the club in the summer, is also a major doubt after hurting his ankle in the defeat to Arsenal.

As for City, their only injury absentee is Sergio Aguero.

In-form youngster Phil Foden is likely to feature again, looking to cement his place as a starter for next season.
