El Mago

It's fair to say that both Manchester City and the Premier League are going to miss this guy when he leaves this summer...

FULL TIME ROUND-UP

For Newcastle, it's fair to say it was pretty dismal showing from Steve Bruce's side. Yes, they came up against a superior side but it seemed that the visitors showed little intent to get into the game, and almost rolled over for Pep Guardiola's side.

FULL TIME ROUND-UP

It's fair to say the Blues have put Sunday's poor showing at Southampton with a superb performance to hammer Newcastle at the Etihad.

David Silva was the pick of the City players, demonstrating why he was and still is one of the greatest the Premier League has seen!

FULL TIME: MANCHESTER CITY 5-0 NEWCASTLE UNITED

A vintage Manchester City performance gives the hosts a convincing win over a sorry Newcastle side!

GOAL! MANCHESTER CITY 5-0 NEWCASTLE UNITED - RAHEEM STERLING

90+1' It's five! A defensive mistake from Newcastle allows David Silva to slot in Sterling and he makes no mistake with the finish, slotting into the bottom corner!

90' Three minutes added on at the end of the game.

CHANCE!

89' It should be five! Some superb individual play by Kevin De Bruyne plays in David Silva but he fires over from close range!

NEWCASTLE UNITED SUBSTITUTES

84' Christian Atsu and Yoshinori Muto replace Matt Ritchie and Emil Krafth

80' Nearly a fairy tale Premier League debut for Tommy Doyle as he unleashes a shot from the edge of the box straight at Martin Dubravka!

MANCHESTER CITY SUBSTITUTE

75' Final change for the Blues as 18-year-old and lifelong City fan, Tommy Doyle replaces Riyad Mahrez for his Premier League debut!

CHANCE!

A great save by Martin Dubravka! Kevin De Bruyne pulls the back for David Silva on the edge of the box and the Spaniard's effort is well saved!

NEWCASTLE UNITED SUBSTITUTES

70' Triple change for the Toon as Javier Manquillo, Dwight Gayle and Matty Longstaff are on for Joelinton, Valentino Lazaro and Jonjo Shelvey.

DRINKS BREAK

68' It's the second drinks break of the evening and I think the Newcastle players would definitely prefer something a little stronger now...

GOAL! MANCHESTER CITY 4-0 NEWCASTLE UNITED - DAVID SILVA

65' WHAT A FINISH, WHAT A PLAYER! David Silva curls a superb free kick from 25 yards over the Newcastle wall and into the top corner for City's fourth!

MANCHESTER CITY SUBSTITUTES

62' Another two changes for City as Phil Foden and Gabriel Jesus are replaced by Bernardo Silva and Raheem Sterling.

GOAL! MANCHESTER CITY 3-0 NEWCASTLE UNITED - MATT RITCHIE

57' It's a calamity for Newcastle! A nice interchange between Phil Foden and Gabriel Jesus allows the latter to drive into the box. Up step Matt Ritchie who intercepts the ball from Jesus but also slots into his own net past a helpless Martin Dubravka!

50' A superb cross-field ball finds from Kyle Walker finds Phil Foden, he sets up David Silva who hits his deflected effort just over the bar!

CHANCE!

48' Another great chance for Phil Foden! A lobbed ball across goal from Kevin De Bruyne finds Phil Foden but he pokes his effort from close range wide!

SECOND HALF: MANCHESTER CITY 2-0 NEWCASTLE UNITED

46' The Magpies get the game restarted!

MANCHESTER CITY SUBSTITUTES

Double change for City at the break as Rodrigo and Joao Cancelo come off for Kyle Walker and Ilkay Gundogan.

HALF TIME ROUND-UP

Well after a fast start from Guardiola's side with goals from Jesus and Mahrez, it's seems the drinks break half way through the first 45 minutes just made the hosts drop a gear.

For Newcastle, it will be a tough half time team talk for manager, Steve Bruce who's side seem to be struggling to get into the game against a dominant City side.

HALF TIME: MANCHESTER CITY 2-0 NEWCASTLE UNITED

After a dominant start, it's the Blues who have a comfortable 2-0 lead at the break!

45' Two minutes added on.

45' Kevin De Bruyne whips in a dangerous ball but Rodri's glancing header flies just over!

43' Gabriel Jesus curls in a nice ball from the left but Nicolas Otamendi's header is weak and doesn't trouble Martin Dubravka.

CHANCE!

It should be three! Phil Foden plays a nice one-two with Gabriel Jesus on the edge of the box but he drags his effort just wide of the post!

35' Joao Cancelo tries his luck from distance and despite the tame effort, it's pushed behind by Martin Dubravka.

33' It seems the drinks break has somewhat hindered City's domination giving Newcastle a chance to get into the game.

31' First chance for Newcastle as Matt Ritchie free kick finds Federico Fernandez, however his header is comfortable for Ederson.

Drinks Break

23' A much needed break for the Newcastle players. I think they'll need something a little stronger than Gatorade after that first 20 minutes.

22' The cricket may have restarted at the Ageas Bowl this afternoon, but if Newcastle carry on defending like this we could have a cricket score here!

GOAL! MANCHESTER CITY 2-0 NEWCASTLE UNITED - RIYAD MAHREZ

21 It's typical City again! Another neat move allows Kevin De Bruyne space in the box, he slides the ball across for Mahrez who slots into the bottom corner!

CHANCE!

17' Phil Foden introduces himself into the game as he finds space on the edge of the box, beats his man but then drags his effort wide of the far post!

CHANCE!

13 Ederson plays a trademark ball over the top for Riyad Mahrez, however the Algerian snatches at the shot and hits it straight at Martin Dubravka!

12' After a frustrating performance at Southampton on Sunday where he missed a host of chances, there is no doubt that, that goal will do Gabriel Jesus' confidence in front of goal the world of good.

GOAL! MANCHESTER CITY 1-0 SOUTHAMPTON - GABRIEL JESUS

10' City have an early lead! A typical City move finds David Silva in the box, he then pulls it back for Jesus who neatly slots home in the bottom corner to open the scoring!

3' Early chance form City as Riyad Mahrez glides in from the right and hits a curling effort from the edge of the box straight at Martin Dubravka!

Rotation for Both

It's fair to say both sides have made plenty of changes going into this one. It's probably fair to say Steve Bruce's were forced due to his injury issues at the moment, whilst Pep will be looking to keep his squad rotation going.

Newcastle United Team News

For the Toon it's SIX changes from their last outing with DeAndre Yedlin, Danny Rose, Fabian Schar, Nabil Bentaleb and Valentino Lazaro replacing Javier Manquillo, Jamal Lascelles, Isaac Hayden, Miguel Almiron, Allan Saint-Maximin and Dwight Gayle.

Manchester City Team News

So, it's five changes for the Blues with Nicolas Otamendi, John Stones, Rodri, Kevin De Bruyne and Phil Foden in for Aymeric Laporte, Eric Garcia, Fernandinho, Bernardo Silva and Raheem Sterling.

Last Time They Met

The last time these two sides faced off came just over a week ago when the two met in the FA Cup Quarter Finals at St James' Park.

The Blues ran out comfortable 2-0 winners on the Tyne thanks to goals from Kevin De Bruyne and Raheem Sterling.

Newcastle United Team News

Pre-match Steve Bruce has noted his side are suffering somewhat of an injury crisis with Andy Carroll, Isaac Hayden, Sean Longstaff and Jamaal Lascelles all sidelined ahead of Tuesday's meeting at the Etihad.

Miguel Almiron and Allan Saint-Maximin have also been labelled as doubts for the trip to Manchester.

Manchester City Team News

The main absentee for City is all time leading goalscorer, Sergio Aguero due to a knee injury ruling him out for the rest of the Premier League season.

There is no doubt we will see some squad rotation from the side that lost to Southampton at the weekend, as Guardiola has done across all of his side's outings since the Premier League restart.

Tough Test Expected for Magpies

Despite some fairly impressive form since the restart there is no doubt that Tuesday evening's game at the Etihad will be Newcastle's toughest outing yet.

However, after seeing mid-table Southampton topple the former Premier League champions on Sunday they may fancy themselves to cause an upset and do the same.

Blues Looking to Bounce Back

After an emphatic win last midweek against Liverpool, Manchester City were brought straight back down to earth after falling to a 1-0 defeat away at Southampton, a week that in truth summed up their whole 2019/20 campaign.

There is no doubt Pep Guardiola will be expecting his side to bounce back to winning ways in this one.

KICK OFF TIME

The game will kick off at 18:00 BST at Manchester City's Etihad Stadium.
