N'Golo Kante is ruled out due to a hamstring strain and Billy Gilmour has been ruled out for upto four months with a knee injury. Fikayo Tomori is not fit enough yet to feature.
Sheffield United team news
John Fleck and David McGoldrick both missed the clash with Wolves on Wednesday so it is unclear whether they be fit to feature. Oli McBurnie came off after only 49 minutes on Wednesday so he is a doubt as well.
Previous meeting
The two teams met all the way back in August with Tammy Abrahams first half brace being cancelled out by a Callum Robinson goal and a last minute Kurt Zouma own goal that ensured that the points were shared.
Chelsea looking to cement themselves in Champions League spot
Chelsea have only lost one game since the restart and goalscoring has not been a problem for Frank Lampard's side as they with Christian Pulisic being on red hot form in recent weeks
Sheffield United looking to carry on their form
Following a slow restart, the Blades have now found a bit of form, picking up seven points in their last three games, including John Egan's last gasp winner against Wolves last time out
Both teams are currently still in the fight for European football with Sheffield United in seventh place whilst Chelsea sit in third.
