Brentford look to maintain their fight for automatic promotion when they travel to Stoke City on Saturday.

The Bees are only a point behind second placed West Bromwich Albion and if they win at the Bet365 Stadium and the Baggies drop points away to Huddersfield Town on Friday night, they  will move into the automatic promotion places with only a game remaining.

Brentford  go into the encounter with great confidence as they have won 100% of their games since the restart with them having only conceded twice during this period.

In fact, Thomas Frank's team are unbeaten in the last nine games with them only having dropped points once during this time, which came in a 2-2 draw away to Cardiff City.

Additionally, the last time the Bees experienced a defeat was on the 25th February when they were beat 2-1 on the road to relegation bound Luton Town.

In comparison, their opponents Stoke have had a poor season to say the least but it is looking likely that they will have just done enough to avoid relegation to League One.

Following the Potters earning four points out of the last two games, it leaves them in 17th place five points clear of the relegation zone.

This means that it would take an impressive end of the season for the team's currently below Stoke, and a poor set of results in the last two games for Michael O’Neil’s side to give them a chance of being dragged into the relegation zone.

Team news

Going into the encounter, neither side have any new injury concerns but for the hosts striker Tyrese Campbell and winger Tom Ince could be recalled in the potential places of Sam Vokes and Lee Gregory- both of whom who started in the Potters 1-1 draw away at Bristol City last time out.

On the other hand, following Brentford’s 1-0 home victory over Preston North End on Wednesday night, it is unlikely that Frank is going to make too many changes for this game at the Bet365 Stadium.

The only possible change that the 46- year old may make is to bring back midfielder Josh Dasilva into the starting eleven in the place of Mathias Jensen.

Previous clashes

In the earlier Championship fixture between both sides on the 21st September, the game ended goalless at Griffin Park, but they both faced off in the third round of the FA Cup where an Emiliano Marcondes goal just before half time was enough to seal a 1-0 victory for Brentford.

Furthermore, in recent times Brentford hold a good record against the Potters as they are unbeaten in their last four outings against O’Neil’s side, with them winning twice and drawing twice during this run.

Stoke have not actually won against the Bees since May 2002 when goals by Deon Burton and own goal by Ben Burgess sealed a 2-0 win for the Potters in the Second Division play-off final that took place at the Milennium Stadium.

However, Stoke have not beat Brentford at home since November 2001 when a late goal by defender Siarhei Shtaniuk earned them a 3-2 victory in the Second Division.
