The highly rated full-back was expected to join the Eagles back in the January transfer window for a reported £11million fee. However, the deal collapsed due to a knee injury which became apparent in his medical prior to joining the South Londoners.

Ferguson has spent the last six months nursing his knee injury after having surgery, which took place days after the move to Crystal Palace fell through.

Palace have kept close tabs on Ferguson during his rehabilitation process, as it seemed Ferguson had burnt any bridges he had left at West Bromwich Albion, evident in his determination to leave the Baggies in the January window.

Ferguson joins Palace to provide a challenge for the place of long serving right-back, Joel Ward, and can also play at left-back if needed, having demonstrated his skills in either position this season, under Premier League-bound, West Brom boss, Slaven Bilić.

Nathan Fergsuon on joining Palace

On completing his long-awaited move to London, Nathan Ferguson had this to say, “It’s great to be here. Crystal Palace is a great club in my opinion, and I feel like there’s a lot that I can bring to the team. I’m so happy to be here and I can’t wait to get started."

Steve Parish's thoughts

Crystal Palace Chairman, Steve Parish, was delighted finally to have brought Ferguson to the club. He said “Nathan is a fantastic signing for us, a player we’ve been committed to for a long time. He is hungry, focused, has a great attitude and he’s got an abundance of talent. It’s been a challenging six months for Nathan, and I’m genuinely so pleased for him that we have finally secured his services.”
