Goodbye!

That's all from us at VAVEL for the LIVE coverage - thank you for joining us.

I've been Lewis Browning, and I'll be back tomorrow night here to find out who Brentford will face in Tuesday's final for a spot in the Premier League.

Keep an eye on vavel.com for the report.

See ya!

21:457 days ago

Well, Griffin Park got the farewell it wanted and very much deserved.

A brilliant game of football, and it's Brentford, the team that have called the stadium home for over a century, who come out on top.

The Bees players are all smiles. Swansea are on the floor.

Full time: Brentford 3-1 Swansea (3-2 aggregate)

90 +7': And there it is!

The full time whistle is blown and it will be Brentford heading to Wembley on Tuesday to take on either Fulham or Cardiff for a place in the Premier League.

The Bees trailed after the first leg, but early goals from Ollie Watkins and Said Benrahma put them ahead and in control on the night. Bryan Mbeumbo added a third at the start of the second half and Brentford were cruising, but Rhian Brewster put new life into Swansea’s legs after Pontus Jansson’s error late on.

Despite late pressure, Swansea couldn’t get an equaliser, and it is Brentford that go through to the play-off final.

21:427 days ago

Corner!

90 +6': Just seconds remain for Swansea to get an equaliser.

A corner is cleared with Mulder forward.

21:417 days ago

Corner!

90 +5':Watkins fires a ball across and wins a corner. Music to Brentford's ears.

The forward has been brilliant tonight.

Benrahma then curls an effort over the bar - it's good, but not good enough.

21:407 days ago

Bookings!

90 +4': Connor Roberts and Thomas Frank are shown yellow cards after a bit of a scuffle in the dugout between the two setups.

Just over two minutes for Swansea to get another goal.

21:397 days ago

Save!

90 +3': Canos wastes a good chance for Brentford as he decides to shoot rather than go for the corner flag, and Swansea go straight up the other end.

Brewster then fires a tame effort at Raya with Celina in a lot of space down the left. Poor.

21:377 days ago

90 +1': Six additional minutes are to be played. That's not what Brentford would have wanted to hear.
21:367 days ago

90': Swansea are controlling the play but Brentford are defending well and not allowing much space for Swansea to play in.

We're about to find out how much stoppage time will be played.

21:327 days ago

Crossbar!

86': Grimes whips in a free kick after Ayew is this time fouled by Raya comes and claims it.

Benrahma then has the chance wrap things up when Watkins drags the ball back but he shoots against the top of the crossbar and over.

He's then booked.

21:297 days ago

Booking!

83': Andre Ayew goes into the book for protesting a little too hard after the referee turned away an appeal for a free kick.

I'm not sure which camp I'd rather be in right now. Brentford still lead, but they must be riddled with nerves.

21:277 days ago

Offside!

81': Ayew goes too early but Swansea are confident now.

I've got no idea what Jansson was trying to do, there. That's really, really poor defending.

21:257 days ago

Goal! Brentford 3-1 Swansea (Brewster)

79': We have a big, big game on our hands here. Embed from Getty Images

Brentford have fluffed their lines - captain Jansson has had an absolute nightmare trying to flick what looked an easy clearance rather than getting rid of it.

Raya is off his line, and Brewster is there to pounce on the error and flick the ball over the 'keeper.

Game back on!

21:237 days ago

Substitutions!

77': Right: a double change for Brentford with Canos and Dasilva replacing Marcondes and Mbeumo - two of the goalscorers.

Steve Cooper has swapped Naughton for Celina.

21:227 days ago

Offside!

76': Watkins fires into the side netting but he's miles offside.
21:217 days ago

Booking!

75': Brewster goes to ground but again nothing is going.

Yan Dhanda is though booked for a late tackle on Dalsgaard.

Swansea have 15 minutes.

21:187 days ago

72': It seems like Brentford are happy to sit on their two-goal lead, which is a shame, because they really were playing some nice stuff. But hey, I'm not the manager.

Roberts' cross goes into the hands of Raya.

21:157 days ago

Drinks break!

69': Our second and final drinks break of the game is upon us and it's at a bad time for Swansea, who have been on top the last few minutes.

A chance for Brentford to regroup.

21:127 days ago

66': Swansea are enjoying a nice spell of possession and Brentford are having to fight to get out.

They need two goals in around 25 minutes to take this to extra time.

21:117 days ago

Save!

65': Swansea's best play of the game.

Connor Roberts is played in down the right and cuts inside Henry to get a shot away. Raya palms over the bar, and the corner is cleared.

21:087 days ago

63': Ooooh, that's a nasty injury.

Marcondes and Ayew compete for the ball and the former ends up jumping on Ayew, wrists.

It didn't seem intentional. Jansson is keeping an eye on the Swansea forward whilst he receives treatment.

21:067 days ago

60': Brentford move the ball so quickly. It's just beautiful.

This game is going exactly as they'd have wanted it to. Swansea haven't had a look in this half.

21:027 days ago

Offside!

56': Watkins is pulled up for offside this time. He holds the ball up well, but the flag is raised.
21:017 days ago

Yellow card!

55': Ben Cabango goes into the book after wiping out Watkins down the right.

He can have no complaints - the free kick is headed over by Pinnock. A good chance, actually.

21:007 days ago

54': Watkins shows an unreal defensive work rate to get back and win a goal kick against Bidwell. It was probably a corner, but that's brilliant from the striker and sums up Brentford so far this game.
20:567 days ago

51'L Ayew goes to ground down the right but there's nothing going for that.

The wind seems to have gone from the visitors' tails. They need two goals, or they're out of the play-offs.

20:547 days ago

Goal! Brentford 3-0 Swansea (Mbeumo)

48': Could that be the game?

Brentford have come flying out the blocks yet again and Bryan Mbeumo has netted the Bees' third of the night.

Henry gets down the left well and picks out Mbeumo perfectly. The 20-year-old gets the right side of Bidwell, and volleys home.

A massive, massive task for Swansea now.

20:537 days ago

Swansea substitutions

46': Steve Cooper has made a double change at the break, with Yan Dhanda and Ben Cabango replacing Mike van der Hoorn and Jay Fulton.
20:517 days ago

Second half underway

46': Brentford get us going again for the second period.
20:487 days ago

The players are back out for the second half.

As it stands, Brentford are 45 minutes away from Wembley. Swansea will want to change that.

20:427 days ago

Plenty for Steve Cooper to ponder, then. His side have been second best so far.

One more Brentford goal and they will be confident of booking their place at Wembley next Tuesday at Wembley.

20:397 days ago

20:347 days ago

Half time: Brentford 2-0 Swansea

45 +5': Swansea finish the half on the ball but Brentford will be by far the happier of the two teams as we go into the break.

They lead on the night and on aggregate after early goals from Ollie Watkins and Emiliano Marcondes.

The Bees are ahead - but this one is far from over.

20:317 days ago

45 +1': Ayew is down with a head injury and the referee stops play with Brentford on the attack again.

There will be a minimum of two minutes stoppage time played.

20:297 days ago

45': Watkins plays Mbeumo in down the right and the Frenchman charges towards goal with van der Hoorn in between him and Mulder.

Mbeumo runs the ball out, though. A big chance wasted.

20:287 days ago

43': Norgaard sprints forward from defensive midfield to press the ball and wins his team a throw in the middle of the park.

Excellent stuff from him - the desire from these Brentford players is clear to see.

20:257 days ago

41': There's a small break in play as Jansson receives treatment following a challenge from Gallagher.

Swansea will be happy if they can get through to half time with the score at 2-0 here. Brentford won't want the break.

20:237 days ago

38': Benrahma loves a shot.

Watkins holds the ball up well and Benrahma dances through a few players before letting fly. Again, it's over, but the 24-year-old is causing plenty of problems.

20:197 days ago

Corner!

35': Rico Henry, who didn't think he'd be playing tonight, heads a Bidwell cross out for a corner.

Nothing comes of it, but Swansea are enjoying a little spell here.

20:187 days ago

33': Another Dalsgaard throw is cleared before Jensen flattens Gallagher.

Things have slowed down a little in the last few minutes, but what an opening half hour or so.

20:147 days ago

Offside!

30': Watkins runs too early but Brentford are getting forward frequently and pressing Swansea really well, who are trying their best to play out from the back.
20:137 days ago

28': Andre Ayew gets a talking to from the referee before Watkins causes more trouble for Brentford.

He pokes a ball through to Benrahma, who shoots, but the ball deflects luckily off Naughton into the arms of Mulder.

20:097 days ago

Drinks break!

25': Mbeumo shoots over and it's time for our first drinks break of the game and everyone needs it. Someone pass me my apple juice.
20:087 days ago

24': Swansea attack with some good buildup play but Bidwell heads wide.

Brentford may be winning, but there's loads left in this tie. It's far from over.

20:057 days ago

Save! Post!

20': Blimey. I'm struggling to keep up.

Swansea attack and Gallagher is played through by Bidwell. The on-loan Chelsea man shoots across goal and produces a fine save from Raya.

Brentford then go up the other end and Benrahma hits the inside of the post from a tight angle!

Is this basketball or football?

20:047 days ago

Corner!

19': Brentford have another corner but the cross is cleared.

Steve Cooper needs to get his team together here.

20:027 days ago

Goal! Brentford 2-0 Swansea (Marcondes)

17': He's back in the starting XI, and he's come up trumps with a goal!

Benrahma puts in an absolute beauty of a cross, and Emiliano Marcondes drifts into the middle and guides a header perfectly past Mulder.

Brentford are flying. Swansea need to regroup desperately.

19:597 days ago

15': Benrahma fires in a free kick from out wide but it's well over the bar.

That goal will be welcomed massively by Brentford and their fans at home. They're well on top right now.

19:577 days ago

Goal! Brentford 1-0 Swansea (Watkins)

12': Brentford lead on the night, and we're level in the tie!

Jensen plays a beauty of a ball, a defence splitting pass, through to Watkins who runs at goal. There's no mistake from the forward, who slots home his 26th goal of the season.

Game on!

19:557 days ago

Booking!

Dalsgaard goes in hard on Gallagher and the appeals from the Swansea players are loud.

Referee Chris Kavanagh shows the full-back a yellow card.

19:537 days ago

Corner!

9': Dalsgaard launches in a long throw and Guehi heads behind for a Brentford corner.

There's a foul, though and Swansea, who have conceded the fewest goals in the Championship from set pieces this season - eight - clear from a free kick.

19:527 days ago

Offside!

7': Brewster is in after some smart play in midfield but the flag is up on the far side.

The correct call. The shot was wide anyway.

19:497 days ago

Save!

5': A long ball towards Watkins is cut out by the returning Naughton, and Chelsea loanee Marc Guehi then does well to win a goal kick for the Swans.

Emiliano Marcondes then has the first shot of the game - it dips a lot, but Erwin Mulder does well to beat the effort away.

19:477 days ago

2': Brentford will want an early goal here. If they can level things up early, they'll fancy their chances on their own turf.

It's Swansea with the early possession, but a long ball is into the arms of Raya.

19:457 days ago

Kick-off!

1': After the players take the knee, Swansea get us underway at Griffin Park.
19:417 days ago

The players make their ways out onto the pitch, greeted, of course, by silence.

We're almost ready to get going. This is a big one.

19:307 days ago

15 minutes until kick-off

Brentford have never been promoted via the EFL play-offs from eight attempts - a win here would go a long way to changing that.

We're roughly 15 minutes away from kick-off.

19:167 days ago

Goodbye Griffin Park

This is Brentford's final game at Griffin Park - their home for well over 100 years.

The Bees moved in in 1904 and have made a million memories there since. Qualification today could top the lot.

19:077 days ago

Swansea on top

Many thought we'd see Nottingham Forest in this season's Championship play-offs, but no wins from their last six games meant they slipped out the top six.

Swansea took full advantage, beating Reading 4-1 on the final day as Forest lost by the same score at home to Stoke, meaning the Swans took the final play-off position.

They haven't looked back, either. Brentford were heavy favourites in this tie, but it's Swansea in the driving seat after the first leg.

19:027 days ago

All to play for

As we mentioned a bit earlier on, Brentford had the chance to break into the automatic promotion places in the Championship as second-placed West Brom picked up just one point from their last two games with the Bees hot on their heels.

Two points would've done it in the end for Brentford, but they lost their last two games of the season and had to settle for third and a play-off campaign.

18:577 days ago

One change for Swans

Like his counterpart Thomas Frank, Swansea boss Steve Cooper has made just one change from the starting XI that beat Brentford at the weekend.

Kyle Naughton, who returns from suspension, comes in for Ben Cabango, who is on the bench.

18:557 days ago

Bees swap one

So one change for Brentford following the 1-0 loss in the first leg on Sunday.

It's a change of personnel more than system, with Emiliano Marcondes replacing Jay Dasilva, who drops to the bench, in midfield.

Cooper expects side to give 100%

Swansea boss Steve Cooper told the club website this week that he expects his players to leave everything on the pitch.

“I know everybody that is part of this place is really attached to the club and the area" he said.

“I know the players will be giving everything they can for the team, the club and the supporters.

“All we can ask of the fans is to just continue supporting us and believing in us as they always have done."

Frank wants to make last game memorable

Brentford manager Thomas Frank, via The Guardian, insisted earlier this week that his team will do all they can to leave Griffin Park with a bang.

"We will come out flying” said the 46-year-old. “We will do everything we can to make it a last magical moment at Griffin Park that can stay with the fans for ever. I can promise that when we are done, I personally will carry my players off the pitch if they cannot do that themselves.”

Swansea flying

Swansea snuck into the play-offs on the final day of the Championship season, edging out Nottingham Forest after defeating Reading 4-1.

A potential South Wales derby is in the pipeline for the final, but they need to get past an impressive, albeit out of form, Brentford side first.

12:217 days ago

Do or die for Brentford

Brentford were heavy favourites to go up automatically when West Brom picked up just one point from their final two games of the season, but the Bees suffered back-to-back defeats and had to settle for the play-offs.

They wont want all their hard work to go to waste, and will also want to leave Griffin Park on a high.

12:187 days ago

This game, obviously, has plenty riding on it.

It's Brentford's last game at Griffin Park, and they'll want to go out with a bang. But to do that, they'll need to turn around a one goal deficit from the first leg.

The Swans won the game 1-0 thanks to an Andre Ayew strike, and Brentford have it all to do here.
