Morgan Gibbs-White looks set to join Swansea City on a season-long from Wolves this week.

The Telegraph have reported that the 20-year-old will be sent out on loan to Steve Cooper's side for the upcoming season for the attacking midfielder to gain valuable minutes.

With regular first-team minutes hard to come by at Wolves, Gibbs-White made only 16 appearances in all competitions last season with a vast majority of them coming off the bench,

Only 21 of his 69 appearances have been starts, with the last coming in the 3-2 defeat in Espanyol in February in the UEFA Europa League.

Why Swansea City?

The Championship club is renowned for loaning Premier League players and providing valuable first-team matches.

In 2017, Tammy Abraham spent an entire season in the top flight after impressing at Bristol City the season before.

Since then, Abraham has gone on to represent England and hold Chelsea's number nine shirt. Abraham, scored eight times in all competitions whilst playing for the Welsh team before helping Aston Villa earn promotion the following season.

In recent years, the like's of Cameron Carter-Vickers, Ben Wilmot, Freddie Woodman, Rhian Brewster and Conor Gallagher have all featured for the club.

Also, Gibbs-White has played under Cooper before for England U17s. The midfielder scored in his nation's 5-2 victory over Spain in the final of the FIFA U17 World Cup.

With Gallagher returning to Chelsea, Swansea are desperate for an attacking-minded midfielder.

Capable of finding a pass, Gibbs-White will offer more experience than Gallagher with after appearing in the Europa League last season.

After breaking lockdown rules in May to attend a party, Gibbs-White will have to prove himself this season. With opportunities limited at Molineux, Swansea seems the right fit.

If he is to reach similar heights of Phil Foden, an impressive season for the Swans is a must.
