Aston Villa have arguably made their most important signing of the summer, signing captain Jack Grealish on a newly improved contract till 2025.

Villa have sent the fans into meltdown by releasing a clip of Grealish himself stating he's signed a new deal.

A collective sign of relief can be heard over the Midlands after months of speculation from the tabloids stating Manchester United's interest in Jack.

Grealish has been at the club since he was six years old and is more than happy to sign an improved contract with the team so near to his heart:

"It is my club, my home and I'm very happy to be here".

The additions of Ollie Watkins and Matty Cash have acted as reassurances from the club, stating the owner's clear intentions and ambitions on the direction the club is taking over the next few years.

CEO Christian Purslow has bakced this up and stated the owners intentions on bringing the glory days back to B6:

"We are determined to build a top team around him and are delighted that he is extending his contract and committing himself to the club he loves".

From leading the side he supports to promotion into the Premier League, sustaining Villa's position in the top flight and earning his very first England cap - it's a huge coup for Villa keeping their captain for another five years.

Not only does the new deal send a sign of intent for both the fans and players, it also acts as a sign of hope for the youngsters in the academy - that one day their dream can too be realised like Grealish's was.
