Southampton play host to Brentford in the Carabao Cup (second round) tonight, in a tie that provides both teams an opportunity to kick-start their season. After an uninspiring opening day defeat to Crystal Palace, Hasenhüttl is keen to rectify things this evening, and has vowed he won't make many changes to the starting lineup.

Speaking to SouthamptonFC.com,  Ralph said: "I think it is important that we begin to find a rhythm and so don’t want to make too many changes.

"They are a good team. We have played them in friendlies a few times and they had a good season but a disappointing finish. It’s a good test for us.

We hope to do well in all competitions and, after a not so good start, it’s a chance to make it better on Wednesday. This chance we will take.

Brentford are yet to earn a win in 90 minutes this season, losing 1-0 to Birmingham City in their opening Championship fixture, and edging past Wycombe Wanderers 4-2 on penalties in the first round of this competition.

They also have a point to prove, after missing out on promotion to the Premier League with play-off final defeat to Fulham last month. And they'll be eager to show what they can do against Premier League opposition tonight, with a trip to either West Bromwich Albion or Harrogate Town facing the winner.
