Following a 0-2 loss against Newcastle United on the opening day of the 2020/21 Premier League season, West Ham United will try to turn their poor start around before it becomes even worse.

But they will have to produce something special, as their Saturday's opponents, Arsenal FC, will be coming into the game off of a 0-3 win against Fulham FC, the leagues' newcomers.

Despite suffering a defeat in the league, David Moyes' men have not let it go to their heads and comfortably beat Charlton Athletic 3-0 in the EFL Cup.

With Sebastien Haller and Felipe Anderson back on the scoresheet, the visitors could potentially give the hosts a tough time.

  • Team News

Arsenal FC

The Gunners will be without David LuizShkodran Mustafi and Pablo Mari following their respecting injuries, leaving Mikel Arteta with limited options at the back.

The club's captain, Granit Xhaka, also remains a doubt after picking up a knock in their most recent game against Fulham.

Apart from that, everyone else should be fit and ready, including Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who had penned a new three-year deal earlier on this week.

West Ham United

After a very uneventful transfer period, the Hammers will have to make the most of their current situation.

David Moyes has the full first-team fit and ready (well, apart from Jack Wilshere, but is there anyone who's surprised?), so it's up to him to pick the best team possible.

  • Predicted lineups

Arsenal FC: Leno; Bellerin, Holding, Gabriel, Tierney, Maitland-Niles; Elneny, Ceballos; Pepe, Aubameyang, Willian.

West Ham United: Fabiański; Fredericks, Ogbonna, Diop, Masuaku; Rice, Soucek; Bowen, Fornals, Anderson; Haller.

  • Ones to Watch

Arsenal FC - Willian

After joining the club on a free transfer from London rivals, Chelsea FC, the Brazillian started his career for Arsenal in the best way possible.

The winger managed three assists on his debut in a performance that won him the Man Of The Match award.

Will he start on Saturday it is yet to be seen, but we expect nothing different.

West Ham United - Sebastien Haller

After scoring a hat-trick in pre-season against Ipswich Town, the club's record transfer was put on the bench in the club's season opener, against Newcastle.

But his midweek performance versus Charlton should guarantee him a start on Saturday as he scored two goals, but easily could've had four.

The Frenchman was showing for the ball all-game long and linking up very well with the likes of Felipe Anderson and Manuel Lanzini.

Although this might not be enough to guarantee him a starting spot, the forward should be involved in some way, even as a substitute.

  • Previous meeting

Arsenal FC 1-0 West Ham United (07/03/2020)

The two teams most recently met more than six months ago, just before the start of lockdown.

Despite multiple good opportunities from the Hammers, it was Arsenal, mainly because of a fantastic performance from Bernd Leno, came up winners.

The only goal of the game came in the 78th minute through Alexandre Lacazette, who put away a header from Mesut Ozil.

Earlier that season it was Arsenal again who won, this time 1-3 at the London Stadium, with goals from Gabriel Martinelli, Nicolas Pepe and Aubameyang with Angelo Ogbonna being the only scorer for West Ham.
