As it happened: Coventry City 3-2 Queens Park Rangers

FULL TIME The whistle goes and Coventry have won their first game in the Championship since 2012. After absorbing plenty of early QPR pressure, the Sky Blues grew into the game and McFadzean won it late on.

A disappointing loss for QPR as Mark Warburton feel the goals could have been prevented. A fantastic way to kick off the second weekend of fixtures.

85' Could that be the match-winner? McFadzean narrowly headed over the bar just a few moments ago, but this time he makes no mistake to divert a gorgeous header past Lumley!

80' O'Hare has been lively, especially in this second half and he gets to the byline and preparing to either take a shot or cross into the six yard box before Dykes gets back to unsettle him and force a corner.

78' McFadzean should have put Coventry ahead for a second time, but his header goes narrowly over the crossbar!

76' Coventry can't handle a set piece and Yoann Barbet lashes home from just a few yards out to make it 2-2.

74' Really nice play from Coventry here. Allen pulls the ball back to the center of the penalty area, where Hamer arrives and sends a shot rising over the bar.

73' A fine double save by Marosi as he denies both Geoff Cameron and Dykes, although the linesman's flag was up for offsides.

71' Mark Warburton brings on Paul Smyth to replace Tom Carroll.

61' That was close. Very close. Giles' cross deflects into the path of Dabo, who can't get a good hit in on his volley.

57' Godden tries his luck from 35 yards out and watches as it drops agonizingly wide of the post.

50' Just three minutes after winning a corner, O'Hare puts Coventry in front after taking one touch off of a deflected cross that originated with Dabo. The Sky Blues are in the ascendancy now.

44' Well, that didn't take long. Giles runs over to the byline and lifts a lovely cross over the top Matt Godden arrives at the far post, disposes of his marker and heads past Lumley to level for the Sky Blues!

41' Landon Dykes scores a penalty for the second week running, dispatching this one past Marosi to give the Hoops the lead.

40' McFadzean with a careless challenge on Osayi-Samuel and referee Stephen Martin points to the spot!

35' Smart link-up play from Kakay and Osayi-Samuel. The former cuts in off the right, spots his teammate and looks for the return pass, but the return pass is over-hit.

33' Another set-piece here, this time for the visitors, Giles giving it away. Wallace swings it in, Dykes scything into the area from the far post.

The ball stays in play, allowing Carroll to try his luck, but Marosi is equal to it. 

32' Ostigard pounds that corner into the ground, but no one is on the end of it and Lumley gathers easily.

30' Osayi-Samuel attracts three Coventry defenders and feeds Kakay on the touchline, but his cross is hit far too hard and it goes out of play.

24' Osayi-Samuel has been very impressive so far and  he gets past Giles and after a cross toward the near post, Marosi gathers in comfortably.

22' Amos takes it on from 20 yards out with Hyam getting in a key block.

18' O'Hare bursts forward, but is stopped. He does win a free-kick which unfortunately comes to nothing.

15' It seems as though the Sky Blues are gaining more possession of the ball.

10' The visitors are having many of the chances, but so far nothing has come of it.

5' Osayi-Samuel with some nifty moves past the Coventry defense and he laces a shot that stings Marosi's palms, but doesn't really cause him any trouble.

4' Today marks QPR manager Mark Warburton's 250th game in charge of the Loftus Road outfit.

2' Good action both ways as each team has gotten into the opponents' box.

QPR manager Mark Warburton is hoping to see his side perform much as they did on the opening matchday of the season when they defeated Nottingham Forest 2-0.

"Winning on the opening day of the season is so important for many reasons and our performance was very rewarding. To produce a performance like that against a very good opponent with such a high quality squad makes for a very rewarding week's work."

Sky Blues manager Mark Robins confirmed that captain Liam Kelly will miss tonight's clash after tests revealed a torn hamstring. Youngster Will Bapaga will also be out of action with a nagging shoulder issue.
