The Gunners struck late on to defeat London rivals West Ham at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday evening.

Frenchman Alexandre Lacazette gave the home side the lead in the first half, a lead which was taken away from them by Michail Antonio as he prodded home on the stroke of half time.

Antonio hit the bar in the second half for the Hammers and went closest to scoring until second half substitute Eddie Nketiah won the game with five minutes to go.

Here we rate the Arsenal players after the performance on Saturday...

Bernd Leno - 6

The German goalkeeper hardly put a foot wrong, couldn't stop Antonio equalising and claimed a few crosses to ease pressure on the defence.

Rob Holding - 6

Looked shaky at the back, lacked composure but wasn't calamitous, showed some good touches but West Ham could have exposed the Englishman if they wanted to.

Gabriel Magalhaes - 6

A tougher task for the Brazilian this time around, the West Ham frontline pressed the young centre-back which seemed to unnerve him slightly, wasn't helped by Sead Kolasinac

Sead Kolasinac - 5

Late replacement for Kieran Tierney who was injured in the warm-up. Didn't look match ready and was exposed numerous times down his side which is where the West Ham equaliser came from.

Hector Bellerin - 6

The wing-back didn't have much impact on the game but was solid. Could have been used a lot more as an outlet but Arsenal found much more joy down the other flank.

Dani Ceballos - 8

An architect in midfield, a lot of Arsenal's good moves came through the Spanish international as he controlled the midfield for Arsenal. Set up Nketiah for the winner. Magician.

Granit Xhaka - 6

An average performance from the Swiss, was solid next to Ceballos but was also caught out in transition a few times. Got away with it a few times, solid but uninspiring.

Bukayo Saka - 7

Drove at West Ham and created space for others. Drew players towards him and was influential in helping Ceballos set up the winner. A positive display from the wing-back. Substituted for David Luiz late on.

Willian - 6

It was always going to be hard for the winger to match his opening day performance against Fulham and he struggled to have any influence on the game. Substituted in the 64th minute for Nicolas Pepe.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang - 7

A solid performance from the Arsenal captain. Set up Lacazette for the opener but drifted in and out the game from them. Caused the Hammers problems when on the ball.

Alexandre Lacazette - 7

Fantastic header to open the scoring, like Aubameyang drifted in and out the game and struggled to make an impact at times but looked lively when on the ball. Replaced by Nketiah on the 77th minute.

Substitutes

Nicolas Pepe - 5

Didn't really impact the game when he came on, couldn't get going. Looks to lack confidence, needs a run of games to hit form.

Eddie Nketiah - 6

Was only on the pitch for the last 15 minutes but scored the winner when Ceballos gave him an open net to tap into. Good running and looked threatening, couldn't have asked for much more in a short time.

David Luiz - N/A

Entered the game in the 89th minute to help Arsenal secure the three points for the remaining minutes. Not enough time for any big impact.
