Leicester City have made their second signing of the summer, with Turkish winger Cengiz Under joining the club on-loan from AS Roma

The wideman joins the club on a season-long loan from the Italian giants, with the club holding an option to sign him permanently come the end of the campaign.

Youthful promise

Beginning his career with Turkish outfit Altinordu, the talented winger then continued to develop his promise in his home country with Istanbul Basaksehir. Harnessing a reputation as one of the most exciting youngsters in European football, he then moved to Serie A club AS Roma, where he went on to make 88 appearances and scored 17 goals.

Known for his pace, skill and powerful shot, he was a consistent starter at the Stadio Olimpico in his first two seasons but suffered with some inconsistency in his third campaign in Rome, making only 13 starts in all competitions under Paulo Foncesca

Now 23, Under has plenty of time to get back to top form and will hope to do that at the King Power Stadium as Leicester attempt to challenge in four competitions, including the UEFA Europa League

'I can't wait to go to Leicester'

Speaking after his move to the East-Midlands was confirmed on Sunday morning, the 21-capped Turkey international said: “I can’t wait to go to Leicester and start training. I’ve always wanted to play in England and this is a great opportunity to play in the Premier League.

“I will try to help my team-mates on the pitch and off the pitch and I believe that I can improve my performance every day. I think I am fast and can create lots of chances for my colleagues."

Another draw of moving to Leicester and link up with the Foxes according to Under was reuniting himself with Turkey teammate and childhood friend Caglar Soyuncu

Under continued: "I feel very good because my best friend plays for Leicester City. I am very happy to be able to play with Çağlar [Söyüncü] and I always watched Leicester’s games because of him.”
