Prior to Wolves' Premier League game against Manchester City at Molineux on Monday, Vavel rewind back to October 2010 when the Wanderers came from behind to defeat the Citizens 2-1.

Emmanuel Adebayor handed the visitors the lead from the penalty spot, but the lead did not last long, as seven minutes later Ninad Milijas's half volley levelled up the scores.

Then three minutes before the hour mark a David Edwards strike completed the comeback, consequently ending Wolves' eight-game winless run.

Mario Balotelli, who was making his debut for Roberto Mancini's side, had the first opportunity of the game, when he latched on to a James Milner low cross, but he poked the ball wide under pressure from Kevin Foley.

Vincent Kompany had a header from a David Silva corner cleared off the line before the latter was fouled inside the area by Richard Stearman.

Adebayor was the one to take up the responsibility, and he confidently sent goalkeeper Marcus Hahnemann the wrong way.

Almost immediately after falling behind, Edwards twice went close to getting an equaliser. His first chance was denied when his header from a Matt Jarvis cross was tipped around the post by Joe Hart.

Then moments later, Edwards latched on to another Jarvis cross, but his header this time cannoned off the post.

However, on the 30th-minute mark, the host's pressure did pay off when Milijas low strike from outside the area arrowed into the bottom right-hand corner.

The pack were not far from getting a second when a Jarvis cross narrowly avoided the run of Stephen Hunt.

Although with four minutes remaining until the break, Wolves were lucky to still be level when an Adebayor header bounced just wide of the mark.

Then on the 57th minute, Edwards grabbed the eventual winner as he was the first player to meet a loose ball inside the area, and he was able to despatch past Hart.

Hahnemann did well to deny Silva from equalling up the scores when he turned the ball around the post from the Spaniard's low shot.

The home side could have extended their advantage, but Hart did well to keep hold of Milijas 30 yard drive.

Wolves managed to hold on to a precious three points against a side that finished in third place at the end of this campaign.

The impressive victory contributed to Mick McCarthy's side retaining their place in the top flight for another season, as they ended the season in 17th position, a point adrift of the relegation zone.
