Last meeting

March of 2019 was the last time these two teams squared off with Sheffield United winning 1-0 at Elland Road with Chris Basham scoring the only goal on the afternoon. Billy Sharp capitalized on a slip by Leeds captain Liam Cooper to play Basham in and he finished from 20 yards out in the game's only shot on target.

Ones to watch

Patrick Bamford, Helder Costa and Mateusz Klich have scored six of Leeds' seven goals and are threats every time they possess the ball. With Mousset suspended and Sharp likely to start the game on the bench, it's up to Oli McBurnie and David McGoldrick to lead the attack for Sheffield United.

Pre-match thoughts

Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder was full of praise for his opposite number, saying "he is a character and he improves players and he plays his football in a way he wants to see football played. He is an outstanding figure in European and world football.

"He's managed some huge clubs in Europe and two national sides and now a huge club in English football. I am not surprised about the reaction of the players and the manager once he committed to having another season. They were always going to be favorites to go up and they comfortably won the division.

"I am sure from here they will grow and grow and grow."

Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa is aware of the danger that Sheffield United pose, even if they haven't scored yet this season, telling the media that "it's very clear the importance of what Sheffield have done, firstly getting promoted and then the season they had in the Premier League.

"It's a team with a particular style of play which is ingrained, well-oiled. They have a very good manager, he has been able to ingrain his ideas into his players and the players feel comfortable in the system imposed.

"This is one of the virtues of a good manager, someone who is able to ingrain his ideas on his players and make it look comfortable. It is a practical team. very difficult to face and the game on Sunday is a big challenge for us."

How to watch
