Chelsea manager Frank Lampard addressed the media ahead of the Blues' game with Spurs

Lampard's side will be looking to put last weekend's draw with West Brom behind them.

Instead, they hope to go on a great cup run, starting tomorrow night.

Mendy and Chilwell in the squad

With regards to team news, Frank confirmed that both Edouard Mendy and full-back Ben Chilwell will be in the squad to face Spurs:

‘Mendy and Chilwell are in the squad for tomorrow. They’re fit, and we will see whether they start or not.'

Unfortunately, the game will be too soon for Christian Pulisic and Hakim Ziyech:

‘Ziyech and Pulisic are not far away. They are still in their recovery stage so it’s too early for them both.’

The manager was then asked to give his first opinions on Eduoard Mendy after recently signing the keeper for French side Rennes:

‘The early signs and the interactions as a man and also on the training pitch have been very positive. He’s settled in very well in those few days and we’ve made him very welcome.

‘It’s competition, we know that. He’s a good goalkeeper, we know a lot about him, and we will see how we go.’

Difficult 'Kepa' situation

Chelsea keeper Kepa Arrizabalaga was dropped last weekend with many questioning as to whether or not the Spaniard has a future at the club:

‘It’s been a difficult time for Kepa and that’s been well-documented. I know it and he knows it but we should also understand that he’s a young man and a lot of the spotlight on him has been slightly unfair.

‘I have to protect him because I know he’s a good lad and playing with absolute professionalism and intent to do the best he can. I’ve felt strongly about that in the past week.’

Hudson-Odoi proving his worth

Callum Hudson-Odoi impressed after coming off of the bench at the weekend. After scoring the Blues' second in the 3-3 draw, Hudson-Odoi will be looking to start tomorrow night:

‘With Callum, I certainly hope he has a big part to play this season,’ he added. ‘When you talk about Ziyech and Pulisic, we’re not inundated with wingers because we lost Pedro and Willian in the summer and we need competition.

‘If Callum comes on and makes an impact like he did at West Brom and keeps improving every day, he’s a huge talent.’
