After an extremely long summer of business, the international window for Premier League clubs has finally closed.

Whilst deals can still be done between top-flight and EFL clubs until October 16, Leicester City seem all but done in the transfer market.

How have the East-Midlanders performed in Brendan Rodgers' second summer in charge of the Foxes?

The incomings

Timothy Castagne - £21m from Atalanta

It took some time for the Leicester to really get going in the transfer market but once they did, the first arrival was certainly an exciting one. Versatile full-back Timothy Castagne arrived from UEFA Champions League surprise package Atalanta

Capable to play both on the left and on the right, the Belgian international has already enjoyed a great impact at the King Power Stadium having one goal and provided two assists in his opening three Premier League matches. Should he continue those numbers throughout the season, then he is surely going to go on to be a fantastic acquisition.

Cengiz Under - Loan from AS Roma

With Leicester boss Rodgers making it clear that he wanted more creativity from wide positions in his team, it was only going to be a matter of time until a new winger arrived in the East Midlands. That man turned out to be AS Roma's Turkish attacker Cengiz Under

Whilst the 23-year-old has only been afforded a solitary substitute appearance in the recent 3-0 loss to West Ham United, he did show a few glimpses of what he could be capable of. Possessing great pace and a fantastic eye for a pass, he should compliment the options already at the club extremely well, especially with the Foxes holding an option to buy at the end of Under's loan period.

Wesley Fofana - £30m from AS Saint-Etienne

One of the longest transfer sagas related to Leicester City in recent memory related saw the Foxes finally end their long search for a new centre-back. Having let Harry Maguire depart for Manchester United last summer, it has taken over a year for the club to reinvest the huge fee received in French defender Wesley Fofana

At just 19 years of age, he is an extremely promising option and could fit perfectly into the current three-at-the-back system that Rodgers is attempting to implement.

The outgoings

Ben Chilwell - £50m to Chelsea

The latest in a long line of big-money departures to leave the King Power Stadium, left-back Chilwell became the third Fox to sign for Chelsea in recent years. Having come through the academy in the East-Midlands, it was obviously a loss to see him leave but considering the arrival of Castagne, his departure has not been all too devastating and considering the worldwide financial outlook, the price the club received was extremely welcome.

Others

Chilwell was the only significant exit at the King Power Stadium but others have also left, freeing up considerable amounts of wages. Adrien Silva and Bartosz Kapustka have both been allowed to leave on free transfers, whilst the club also received a minimal fee from Trabzonspor for winger Fousseni Diabate

Fellow attacker Rachid Ghezzal has been allowed to find first team opportunities with a loan deal to another Turkish Super Lig outfit Besiktas. Young defender Josh Knight has also joined Wycombe Wanderers on a temporary deal until January.

Writers' Verdict

It has been a solid if unspectacular window for Leicester and Rodgers this summer. The club have managed to plug glaring gaps in their squad at full-back, centre-back and of course out wide. They have also managed to considerably lower the wage bill which of course will be beneficial.

However, considering that the Foxes are set to embark on a European campaign, more depth could have been useful particularly up front. 7/10.
