Manchester City face a very much inform Everton side in the first of their Continental Cup matches of the season on Tuesday.

City have a wealth of talent to call upon if required but Gareth Taylor may use this as a chance to rest a few of his key players for the WSL on Sunday.

Everton however, still have their 100% record in the league and currently sit second after some very impressive displays which has seen them score 11 goals as well as an FA Cup win over Chelsea.

The match kicks off at 7 pm at the City Academy stadium.

Team news

Taylor is still without Aoife Mawson, Lauren Hemp and Megan Campbell who are all nursing and recovering from injuries.

Rose Lavelle could be handed her first start for the club since arriving in the summer and making two substitute appearances so far this season for City.

Chloe Kelly has been in great form this season and has justified her move to City and may be eager to start against her former club where she made her name in the WSL.

It's likely Taylor will rotate his side ahead of the clash with the league being a bigger target this season for City and with so many matches to be played in the group stages of the Conti Cup.

Willie Kirk is also expected to rotate his side for the majority of games in the group stages but does have no new injury concerns, so could go with the same side which hit Aston Villa six to keep the momentum high.

Ones to watch

It's difficult to predict who will start tomorrow with managers notoriously making sweeping changes for the Continental Cup group stages imparticular.

However, it would seem like an ideal opportunity for Lavelle to get her first start for the club and if she does, a mixed-up Everton side could be in for a difficult afternoon.

Her ability to operate in all areas of the pitch makes her a nightmare to deal with and the quality she has on the ball whether that be passing, dribbling past players or beating the keeper, she is one of the most talented players in the WSL.

Lavelle could guide City to a winning start tomorrow night if given her chance and offers Taylor versatility being able to operate in a number of different positions whether that be as an eight, 10 or winger.

For the Toffees, Lucy Graham has been in scintillating form this season with two goals and two assists in three games and looks set to bring that over into the cup this midweek.

Graham is one of the key players for Kirk as the number 10 she links play together and draws defenders out of pockets to allow her teammates to utilise the vacated space.

It's set to be an enthraling encounter against two of the most attacking and exciting teams in England this season.

Last time out

In the previous meeting between the two sides it was City who took all three points in the WSL with a comfortable 3-1 victory at the City Academy.

Pauline Bremer bagged a brace before Gemma Bonner got in on the act with just less than an hour to play. Everton were handed a late consolation goal via Georgia Stanway who turned the ball into her own net in the 90th minute.

Where to watch

Unfortunately, no games are going to be aired on TV nor will they be available to stream on the FA Player. Therefore, the only way to watch is through the City+ service which is run by the club.
