Eddie Nketiah helped England U21's to a 2-1 win over Turkey at Molineux as they qualified for the European Championships.

Nketiah went into the game sat on 13 goals, level with Francis Jeffers and Alan Shearer. The 19-year-old had a chance to break the record on the 85th minute with a penalty but he couldn't convert, he did however get his goal only a few minutes later to break the record.

This is hard to say at the moment with his game time currently limited under Mikel Arteta, largely due to the presence of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette

This means the young forward is having to bide his time and take his opportunities when they come. Nketiah has great potential and this is clear to see for everybody, he is lethal in front of goal for both Arsenal and England but with his limited game time, he may well look for a move elsewhere if this doesn't change soon.

Arsenal are packed with talented forwards, these include Lacazette and Aubameyang but also Nketiah and Folarin Balogun, the latter of which is highly regarded at the Emirates and is a regular in the England U20 setup.

Aubameyang has not long signed a new contract but Lacazette only has less than two years left on his current deal, this could well be a boost to Nketiah as the Gunners may well look to shift the Frenchman and cash in before his deal is up in 2022.

What this could mean for the England U21 international is that he has to bide his time, possibly until the 2021/22 season and impress from the bench and in cup competitions for the time being.

  • What the stats say

Nketiah has featured 43 times for the Arsenal first team so far and has scored nine times, as well as this he has scored a combined 43 goals in 54 games for the U18's and U23's combined, he also has his 14 goals for England at U21 level and this shows his lethal touch and predatory instincts in and around the box.

The young forward could well become the leading striker for Arsenal for many years to come, all he needs is for Arteta to take a chance on him and a chance to prove his worth.
