Bolton Wanderers host Oldham Athletic at the University of Bolton Stadium at 3:00BST on Saturday, the first meeting between the two in three years.

Both sides sit towards the bottom end of the League Two table, with the Latics the division's basement club, yet to win a match in their first five league games.

Bolton have never lost a game at their new stadium against the visitors, with the last away win for the Latics at Burnden Park in the FA Cup back in 1994.

Team news

New Bolton signing Peter Kioso could feature at right-back as he is available for selection but the game may come too soon for winger Lloyd Isgrove and forward Shaun Miller who Ian Evatt indicated may miss the game in his pre-match press conference.

Ex-Trotters captain David Wheater will not be available to play for Oldham against his former side, frozen out of the home team due to contractual disputes.

The Latics made a number of signings on deadline day, looking to solidify their side. 6"2 defensive midfielder Brice Ntambwe may come into the side while Alfie McCalmont will return to Harry Kewell's side from international duty with Northern Ireland's U21s, the midfielder sorely missed in last weekend's 3-2 loss against Morecambe. Young defender Harry Clarke is not yet available after signing a loan move from Arsenal on Friday.

Latics goalkeeper Ian Lawlor went off against Morecambe with an injury, replaced by Mackenzie Chapman, but new signing Laurence Bilboe may also feature in goal.

Ones to watch

Bolton Wanderers - Ricardo Santos

25-year-old Portuguese defender Ricardo Santos was employed as a centre-back in last weekend's 0-0 draw against Grimsby Town and helped to allay the Wanderers' defensive concerns shown in easy games. Against an Oldham side whose main asset is their impressive attack, the Trotters defence will have to work hard to keep a clean sheet.

Oldham Athletic - Dylan Bahamboula

'Moyo' has been one of the most impressive additions to Harry Kewell's side this summer, changing the game in the previous two league games he has played since joining from Tsarska Selo. The France-born Congo international has the ability to trouble defences, utilising skillful footwork to create chances in behind for the rest of the attack to capitalise on.

Bolton Wanderers - Eoin Doyle

Back in the 2017/18 season, Doyle was scoring for fun at Boundary Park. Now, he will face his former team on Saturday. Although he has only scored once so far in this campaign, Oldham have looked incredibly weak defensively since Wheater was ostracised from the Latics' side and Doyle should be able to take advantage of that.

Oldham Athletic - Conor McAleny

Joining on a free transfer in the summer, McAleny has made an immediate impact at Boundary Park and is joint-top scorer in League Two with five goals and one assist in five games. That record extends to eight goals and one assist in eight games when the Carabao Cup and EFL trophy are included. Across the season, his goals have mainly come from inside of the box, pouncing when the ball is cut back to him in dangerous areas.

Predicted lineups

Bolton Wanderers: Crelin; Delaney, Santos, Brockbank; Mascoll, Sarcevic, Tutte, Kioso; Crawford; Delfouneso, Doyle
