Goodbye and thanks for watching!

Well that wasn't a bad Sunday night game by any means. Thanks very much for joining me and stick around the site for more reaction to Leicester's late win. The Foxes managed the game superbly in the second half.

Once again, thanks for joining me. I've been Louie Elmer, that was Arsenal vs Leicester City and until next time, take care.

Post match thoughts

Arsenal will be kicking themselves. This was a great opportunity to take all three points again a fellow side chasing the top four and they blew it. A good first half- where they threatened consistently- ended up with no reward and they were then hit by the pace of Under and Vardy, the two Leicester subs, for a late blow. A wasteful first half, a flat second, and a textbook smash and grab from Leicester. Arsenal need a solution to their creative woes very very fast.
22:10a month ago

And as Leicester restart the game Craig Pawson blows up for full time. Leicester survived the first half- thanks to a controversial offside call- and then hit Arsenal with a sucker punch in the second. Jamie Vardy gives Leicester all 3 points for the first time away at Arsenal since the Premier League began.
22:08a month ago

95' Xhaka booked

Under skins Xhaka who pulls him back by the shoulders. Booking for the Swiss captain.
22:08a month ago

94' Late corner for Arsenal

Pepe's cross from the left is deflected behind by Fofana. His corner is then headed away at the near post. Arsenal have been terrible this half.
22:06a month ago

90+2': Vardy misses a golden chance

Wow! Should be game over here. Vardy is released and races through, but Leno stands tall and saves from a slight angle. The resulting corner is dealt with. Vardy finishes those in his sleep usually.
22:04a month ago

Five minutes added but you feel like there could be another hour and Arsenal won't score here. Completely flat second half after the constant threat in the first.
22:02a month ago

88' Arsenal running out of time

Leicester are edging towards a first away win against Arsenal in the Premier League. The hosts have done little in the second half and have been sucker punched by the Foxes' game plan.
21:57a month ago

Up and Under for Leicester does the trick

Arsenal had already had a warning of Under's pace but he is electric and with that much space to run into, his threat was quickly realised. A pinpoint cross for Vardy as Leno was stranded, and the striker couldn't miss.
21:55a month ago

81' Tierney off, Nketiah on

Immediately after the goal Tierney makes way for Nketiah.
21:54a month ago

80' GOAL: Jamie Vardy

LEICESTER HAVE THE LEAD! Tielemens's ball over the top releases Under, who crosses for Vardy to nod past Leno. Rodgers's game plan is nearly complete after all.
21:51a month ago

78' Scare for Arsenal

The ball breaks for Leicester after a clearance upfield and Vardy knocks it on for Under- his pace takes him clear but his touch wide, and Arsenal recover. Would have been some introduction...
21:50a month ago

75' Barnes off, Under on

After Lacazette went down, Barnes has made way for Cengiz Under. Barnes has put in a shift without much reward.
21:48a month ago

74' Leicester enjoy spell of pressure

Leicester enjoying probably their longest spell on the ball this entire game, and Vardy finds space on the right to get a low cross in. It's dealt with, and the recycled pass is lofted to the edge of the area where Lacazette and Evans clash. Evans is booked for the challenge and Arsenal can breathe.
21:45a month ago

72' Leicester come forward

Leicester go down the left with Justin after they escape the Arsenal press, but his low cross is comfortable for Leno. Leicester certainly growing into this.
21:42a month ago

68' Bellerin tests Schmeichel

Arsenal break forward and Aubameyang's cross from the left picks out Bellerin make a late run- he cushions a volley towards goal and whilst the contact is good, Schmeichel is right behind it. Arsenal's best moment of the half. A yard either side and Arsenal might be celebrating.
21:41a month ago

67' Rodgers plan paying off? Maddison booked.

You suspect this is about as close to the plan as Rodgers could have hoped for from his side. His side have survived a lot of pressure and it's become a bit scrappy as Maddison is booked for pulling Lacazette back.
21:39a month ago

65' Pepe on, Saka off

Arsenal make their first sub and, speak of the devil, Pepe is on. Saka makes way- might have a little knock from that challenge by Fofana.
21:38a month ago

64' New half, same as the old half

So a little under half an hour to go here and it's a similar pattern to the first half. Lots of Arsenal possession, but Leicester look just a little more positive this half. Expect one of Nketiah or Pepe to be introduced soon.
21:35a month ago

61' Bellerin escapes a card

Leicester are incensed as Bellerin slides in on Justin- he brings him down, and it should be a yellow, but it's an Arsenal throw instead. Interesting from Craig Pawson.
21:33a month ago

59' Arsenal turn the heat up slightly

Successive corners for Arsenal- first won by Tierney and then by Saka after the first is taken short. But Leicester survive comfortably and now Vardy does come on as the ball goes out for a Foxes throw.
21:31a month ago

57' Lacazette booked

Lacazette booked, and rightly so. High ball up, and as Evans rises to head it away he just nudges into him. Harry Kane-esque. Vardy meanwhile looks like he's set to make his bow off the bench.
21:30a month ago

56' Leicester win a free kick

Arsenal clear the corner but Mendy comes forward and is fouled about 30 yards out. It's a rare bit of pressure from the Foxes that is released as Maddison fires the free kick over.
21:28a month ago

55' Leicester break forward

Xhaka is dispossed by Mendy in midfield, and Leicester pour forward with Praet on the ball. Barnes's effort, however, is deflected wide for a corner.
21:27a month ago

54' Maddison tries again

Once again Maddison has gone for it from distance with Leno off his line. This time the German sees it comfortably into his arms.
21:26a month ago

53' Free kick wasted

The free kick comes to nothing but Arsenal remain in control.
21:25a month ago

52' Fofana booked

Saka rolls Fofana as he receives a pass from Partey, and is tripped for his troubles. Booking for the Leicester man and Arsenal have a set piece around 40 yards out.
21:24a month ago

49' Arsenal sub: Mustafi on, Luiz off

And indeed the Brazilian does make way for Mustafi, who returns from an injury of his own that's kept him out for a couple of months. Will be interesting to see how that affects Arsenal's back line, particularly the communication.
21:22a month ago

48' Leicester waste a good chance to attack

Gabriel's pass sells Tierney short and Praet intercepts- he races forward but his pass to Barnes is swept up by Leno. Meanwhile David Luiz is down clutching his left leg, and that might explain why Mustafi was receiving that mini lecture from Arteta.
21:19a month ago

45' And we're off

We're underway in the second half.
21:18a month ago

Half time: teams come back out for the second half

Lots to encourage Mikel Arteta from that first half- you feel the Gunners are just a pass or better touch away from having taken the lead. Brendan Rodgers will be just as happy with how his team are doing, given the injury problems they have. Arteta giving some animated instructions to Shkodran Mustafi as the teams line up...
21:05a month ago

Half time: Arsenal 0-0 Leicester City

So a fast paced first half comes to an end here. Arsenal have controlled proceedings, and Tierney and Bellerin have been threatening on either flank. The hosts went closest through Lacazette's offside effort, and an attempt from Saka, but Leciester have had a couple of bright moments including Maddison's early effort.
21:01a month ago

Two minutes added to what's been a decent first half here. Arsenal certainly have been the better team but you suspect Leicester's game plan looked quite a bit like what has transpired here in the first 45. Arsenal's 11 attempts to the Foxes' 1 tells its own story.
20:58a month ago

42' Saka threatens

Saka is causing some problems here. Ceballos picks him out at the back post with a lovely cross, and his touch inside is blocked. It falls back to the youngster whose right footed effort hits the side netting.
20:56a month ago

40' Arsenal come forward again

Just as I say that, Arsenal look back in the groove. Luiz steps in to intercept a pass aimed for Barnes and gets Arsenal moving forward- Aubameyang takes aim from distance with his weaker left foot, but it hits Lacazette on the way and loops harmslessly wide.
20:54a month ago

38' Flow of traffic slows down

Arsenal's earlier pressure has eased slightly since the 30th minute. Just now though, Gabriel fired a pass forward into Saka whose first touch on the turn took him past Fofana with jaw dropping ease. His pass to Lacazette was short though and Leicester were able to clear.
20:50a month ago

34' Fofana takes a knock

Break in play here as Fofana takes a knock after a late challenge by Lacazette. Looking at replays of the goal that was ruled out, it must have been because of Xhaka being offside. Aubameyang doesn't get near the ball.
20:47a month ago

32' Fuchs booked

Arsenal counter from the corner and as the ball is swept across to Lacazette, he turns Fuchs who goes in hard on his standing foot/ankle. Yellow, and rightly so.
20:46a month ago

31' Barnes wins a corner

Some relief for Leicester here- Barnes makes some progress down the left, and his cross in is blocked by Luiz and it curls behinds for a corner.
20:45a month ago

29' Arsenal go close again!

Blimey. A lovely lofted ball from Luiz picks out Tierney who beats Castagne with his first touch. His cross is perfect but Lacazette misses it with his head and Fuchs puts it behind for a corner. The corner comes to nothing but Leicester keep getting undone by Arsenal's full backs.
20:41a month ago

25' Arsenal on top

Very much a steady stream of traffic towards Schmeichel here- Partey finds Bellerin's run to the by-line and his low cross is perfect into the six yard area, but is cleared behind by Fofana for a corner which comes to nothing.
20:39a month ago

24' Aubameyang looking lively

Arsenal's captain looks sharp tonight. A minute or two after that header, Aubameyang takes on Fuchs and his whipped cross forces Schmeichel to take control.
20:38a month ago

21' Saka tests Schmeichel and then Aubameyang heads over

Another good moment for Arsenal. First, Lacazette breaks the offside trap and is forced slightly wide by the pass. He plays it back for Saka who drives forward and tests Scheichel at his near post, but the Danish holds it comfortably. Then seconds later, Tierney races down the left- his cross is good, but Aubameyang has to stretch for it and his header is well over.
20:35a month ago

19' Leicester threaten

A foray forward for Leicester- Castagne races to the by-line and his low cross misses two or three bodies from both sides. Arsenal eventually come forward, but it's very evident what the visitors are hoping for here. Stay compact, hit Arsenal on the counter.
20:31a month ago

14' Arsenal set up takes shape

Arsenal are having a lot of the ball- quite possibly by design, looking at how Rodgers has set Leicester up. It means we've seen a lot of Tierney pushing up very high, and Granit Xhaka dropping into the left back area in possession. Ceballos seems to be the most advanced of the midfield three.
20:28a month ago

12' Arsenal on top

Arsenal getting a bit of momentum here- Lacazette can't quite control Luiz's pass, but he intercepts an attempted pass out from the back and sets up Saka for a shot which is deflected behind. From the corner, and the resulting pressure, Gabriel attempts not one but two overhead kicks! Leicester eventually clear.
20:27a month ago

11' Bellerin gets in behind

Best moment of the game for Arsenal- Luiz picks out Bellerin's run with a stunning pass over the Foxes defence, and the Spaniard couldn't quite get it under control in time to get the cross away as it's blocked for a corner which comes to nothing.
20:25a month ago

9' Underwhelming effort from Xhaka

It's Xhaka who lines it up and his effort is, quite frankly, disappointing. Straight into the wall and now Leicester have possession.
20:24a month ago

8' Arsenal win free kick in dangerous area

Nice work from Lacazette controlling a bouncing ball and flicking it over Fofana, who blocks him off for a free kick about 25 yards out. Three Arsenal players surround the ball...
20:21a month ago

6' Maddison wins free kick

Now Leicester come forward and Maddison is brought down by Lacazette 35 yards out. His free kick to the back post is nodded away by Tierney.
20:20a month ago

Meanwhile, Saka wins a corner up the other end. It's curled in and Lacazette nods it across goal from the near post- it's in off the post, but is ruled out for offside on Aubameyang it appears. A warning sign for Leicester though.
20:18a month ago

2' Maddison has an ambitious attempt

James Maddison is clearly in the mood- he picks the ball up about 40 yards out after Leno raced out to clear, spots Leno off his line and tries an audacious lob which goes a way over in the end.
20:16a month ago

1' Kick off

And we're off! Leicester kick off towards the (sadly vacant) North Bank here. Looks like a 4-3-3 for the hosts.
20:12a month ago

Kick off approaches

The teams are ready to come out as kick off approaches- I'll bring you all the action from the Emirates Stadium. Thanks for joining me!
20:04a month ago

Warm up gives clue to Arsenal approach

Arsenal are doing some pattern play in their warm up and, if it's anything to go by, Saka starts on the left wing and Aubameyang on the right.

It could also feasibly be a 3-5-2 with Saka at left wing back and Bellerin matching him on the opposite flank.

19:49a month ago

Kick off approaches

We're less than half an hour away from kick off now as these two teams look to give their top four chances a boost. Aubameyang, who was back amongst the goals on Thursday night, skippers the hosts whilst Kaspar Schmeichel leads the Foxes from the back.
19:26a month ago

How the teams are setting up

So, a couple of interesting things looking at those teams. Arsenal move to a three in the middle of the park as Thomas Partey starts, with Tierney starting in his more natural role at left back. Presumably Bukayo Saka takes up a position on the right wing in this system.  Meanwhile, Leicester have no natural striker on the pitch and look like they're going with five at the back and Barnes leading the line, in a new system for Brendan Rodgers.

Injuries and last time out

Arsenal will be drawing on their 2-0 Carabao Cup win in September over the Foxes to give them confidence ahead of a stern test. Given Leicester's injury problems- with Ricardo Pereira, Wilfried Ndidi and Caglar Soyuncu still missing, now might be an ideal time to take on Brendan Rodgers's side.
15:03a month ago

What shape will the Gunners go for?

With Thomas Partey potentially making his first Premier League start, Mikel Arteta could make the switch from a back three to a back four. Up front, with Willian a doubt through injury and Alex Lacazette potentially needing a rest after leading the line on Thursday night, it could be that Aubameyang takes up a more central role.

Leicester looking to get back on track

A storming start to the season for the Foxes has been derailed slightly with two defeats either side of the international break. Rodgers will hope that Thursday night's Europa League success will signal a return to form at what has been a difficult venue for Leicester historically.
14:53a month ago

History favours the Gunners

Arsenal have never lost a home tie against Leicester (12 wins, 2 draws) in the Premier League, and a promising start to the season- away defeats to Liverpool and Manchester City aside- bodes well for Mikel Arteta's men. Arsenal also haven't lost a home league game in October since 2002.
14:48a month ago

Leicester City team news

Jamie Vardy has missed the last two games for the Foxes through injury but boss Brendan Rodgers is hopeful the striker will be able to feature in some capacity, having trained on Friday. Islam Slimani could well lead the line if Vardy doesn't start.

Arsenal team news

The hosts- who have predominantly employed a 3-at-the-back system since football restarted in June- could switch to two centre backs if Thomas Partey is handed a first Premier League start. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is expected to return to the starting line up following his matchwinning appearance off the bench on Thursday night.
