Brighton & Hove Albion will be looking for a return to winning ways when West Bromwich Albion travel to the AMEX Stadium on Monday evening.

After winning three games in a row at the end of September, the Seagulls have lost three of their last four in all competitions and were made to settle for a point against rivals Crystal Palace last time out.

West Brom, meanwhile, are yet to taste victory after their return to the Premier League, but have drawn two of their last three games against Chelsea and then Burnley last weekend.

With both sides looking for three points to move them up the table, it promises to be an interesting fixture.

Team news

Brighton will be without skipper Lewis Dunk following his red card away at Crystal Palace last weekend, but Danny Welbeck could may well make his debut after joining the Seagulls.

Alireza Jahanbakhsh looks set to miss out after a hamstring injury, whilst Davy Propper could come into contention after recovering from an achilles problem. There could be a place on the bench for Andi Zeqiri after the Swiss U21 international impressed in training.

West Brom will be without Sam Field, who after twisting his knee will be out for at least four weeks. Hal Robson-Kanu is still sidelined by a broken wrist.

After making his debut from the start against Burnley last weekend, Karlan Grant looks set to lead the line again for the Baggies.

Predicted line-ups

Seagulls: Ryan; White, Webster, Burn; Lamptey, Lallana, Bissouma, March; Trossard; Maupay, Connolly. Subs: Steele, Alzate, Bernardo, Gross, Mac Allister, Welbeck, Veltman.

Baggies: Johnstone; Furlong, Ivanovic, Hegazy, Townsend; Livermore; Pereira, Gallagher, Krovinovic, Diangana; Grant. Subs: Norris, Brady, Driscoll-Glennon, Dunne, Rodriguez, Stephens, Vydra.

Ones to watch

Adam Lallana is loving the latest chapter of his stellar career with the Seagulls and insists there is more to come. He has featured in every one of Albion’s five Premier League fixtures since joining from Liverpool in July and is relishing playing regular football.

“It’s been great playing regular football and having a different challenge but there is more to come,” he said. “I’m still not at the level yet that I want to be performance and fitness wise but I need to be a bit patient and realise it is going to take a little bit of time.”

West Brom’s £15 million man Karlan Grant is nailed-on to start at the AMEX Stadium, with Slaven Bilic admitting: “What he needs is match fitness and routine.”

The forward made his debut just three days after signing for the Baggies, but Bilic didn’t hesitate to play him from the start against Burnley. He said: “Karlan didn’t have time to settle in, but he didn’t need time because he is a guy from England. He knows a lot of the players, he didn’t need to introduce himself. That is the reason why it was possible for us to start him.

“He has had a bit more time to gel and he looks good in training.”

Head to head

The meeting between the two Albion’s certainly has a favourable history for Graham Potter’s men. Brighton are unbeaten in three of their last four games against West Brom in all competitions, winning twice.

A 3-1 victory back in September 2017 gave Brighton their first Premier League goals and points, with Pascal Gross involved in all three that day – two goals, one assist. Tomer Hemed was also on target.

The same scoreline sent Brighton through to the Emirates FA Cup fourth round in February 2019, with Florin Andone and a brace from Glenn Murray sending the Seagulls through after extra time at the Hawthorns.

Where to watch

The game is live on Sky Sports Box Office, available through pay-per-view, at a cost of £14.95 - kick off is 5:30PM at the AMEX Stadium.
