Rodgers' thoughts

Brendan Rodgers provided an update on his squad's fitness.

He said: “We’re hopeful that Jonny will be back. We’ve had the scan and that’s come up clear. We’re hopeful that with the game 48 hours away, he’ll be available. Apart from that, we don’t have anyone who has been out longer-term to be back."

Rodgers also praised the Leeds boss and the style of play that he has brought to the club.

He said: "You saw the unique style he has in terms of man-marking and the intensity with which his teams play. They have come into the Premier League and been outstanding."

Bielsa's thoughts

Ahead of the game, Marcelo Bielsa spoke about the threat of Jamie Vardy and what his team will try and do to stop the prolific striker.

He said: "He’s a very good player who scores lots of goals and he’s very quick. If he’s a player who’s quite old, I’m not aware of this.

"We take into account all the characteristics of the opponent’s attackers, but there won’t be any particular changes with that in mind."

Leeds looking to continue impressive start

Marcelo Bielsa has worked his magic on Leeds United who, after winning promotion from the Championship last campaign, have begun the Premier League season very well.

Their exciting brand of football has given them a fear factor and teams are made to feel uncomfortable when travelling to Elland Road. Bielsa's side will be aiming to continue their good start and pick up their fourth win of the season against Leicester.
