Full-time: Burnley 1-0 Crystal Palace

Confirmed! Turf Moor is Burnley's happy place finally!

It's their first victory of the season as Chris Wood was the only scorer under the floodlights.

Palace really did miss their superstar Zaha tonight, but nothing can be taken away from Burnley, who put in a brave and courageous defensive display.

20:2121 hours ago

95' Goal kick for Pope

Eze drives forward but the tackle cannons back off him and sees, perhaps his last chance, trickle out for a goal kick.

Van Aanholt pumps the ball upfield following a free-kick just inside the Burnley box, but again the Palace attempt is dealt with ease.

Pope is down after landing  dodgy, he should be ok.

Four additional minutes at Turf Moor.

Time is ticking and Burnley are close to their first win in the league this campaign!
20:1321 hours ago

85' Over by McArthur

McArthur finds space on the edge of the area, opens his body up, and fires over Pope's goal.

He had a better option to his right where Clyne, who has been heavily involved in this game, was in acres of space.

Have to feel that Palace are running out of ideas and optimism here.

20:1021 hours ago

83' Brady injured and off

Brady comes off via a substitution which sees Erik Pieter return from injury.

Better safe than sorry for Dyche and his men now.

Did you know?

Jordan Ayew only scored his first goal of the season in the last game Palace played, which ended a 14 game drought.

With Benteke regularly struggling to find the net, Hodgson's attacking outlets are still failing to show their worth.

A really promising squad of players for Palace nonetheless.

Crystal Palace still having most of the shots, but they need to be careful when claret and blue break.

19:5621 hours ago

70' Right place right time for Burnley, and their defence

Ben Mee and his defensive partners are holding out here, they are penned in at present.

Still no clear cut chance for the Eagles, but they're knocking on the door.

19:5321 hours ago

Gudmondsson comes off, and Robbie Brady comes on.

This switch could add some extra dynamism to Burnley, who will be wanting to maintain their first half momentum.

19:5221 hours ago

66' Speak of the Schlupp! substitution for Palace!

Jeffrey Schlupp is coming on here at Turf Moor, as Riedewald makes way.
19:5021 hours ago

64' All eyes on the bench for Hodgson?

As the minutes go by, Crystal Palace maintain their lack of composure infront of goal.

Schlupp's pace could add something to the fold, and Christian Benteke's physical presence could switch their attacking options.

19:4721 hours ago

60' Chance! Palace could have levelled!

Burnley were keeping possession well and thwarting any Palace attack, but Dwight Mcneil plays a blind ball and finds Ayew, who finds Pope's gloves.

Palace passages of play are a lot quicker in this second segment of the game, Van Aanholt found space and tested the Burnley backline.

Clyne also streamed forward in aid of the latest attack.

46' Scrappy start to the second

Rough and tough in the middle of play, as Westwood goes down and wins the free-kick.

Palace don't have too many options on the bench to change the swing of this game, four defenders are listed...

19:3121 hours ago

45' We're back underway at Turf Moor!

Palace need to dig deep here, They have had chances to improve on their ninth spot.

Burnley should be looking to continue what they started, but a second goal will be crucial to see their visitors off.

The last time Burnley scored at home and lost was at the end of the 2017/18 season, Eddie Howe was the victor on that day.

19:09a day ago

37' Townsend unleashes a speculative effort

Eze has been the bright spark for the team in white today as his drive forward led to a shot from Townsend.

Too far out and too central to trouble Pope, the Englishman will hope his trend of easy pickings continues throughout the ninety.

Palace need to dig in here...

Dyche's high press in the final third could deal a second blow if Guaita doesn't communicate better.

Wood almost latched on to a back pass!

19:02a day ago

30' So far so good for the claret and blue

Burnley obtain the higher possession stats and Mcneil is linking midfield and attack superbly in the opening half hour.

Nonchalant and poised, this Burnley side look a far cry from their usual selves thus far.

18:59a day ago

26' Difficult for Palace to get through

There are too many bodies intertwined between Palace players, and this is proving to be a stern test for Hodgson's men.

Dyche has clearly instilled a philosophy that deals with Palace's counter attacking passages.

18:54a day ago

22' Another chance for the Eagles

Brilliant passage of play that is catalysed by Eberechi Eze.

Dwight Mcneil's cross into the box is thwarted, but Palace are vulnerable with the physical nature of this home side.

Chris Wood is using his strength to engineer an attacking thrust.

18:45a day ago

13' Burnley's defensive abilities are on show

There's no way through for the Eagles as of yet, they're going to have to do more to break down this deep defence of claret and blue.

James Tarkowski impressing on his 150th appearance for the home club.

18:41a day ago

Palace are finding it hard to get out their own half as Rodriguez is popping up in pockets of space after regaining possession.

7' Goal given

It's given and rightly so, a promising start from the home side.
18:39a day ago

7' Goal! It's Burnley! 1-0 to the home side!

It will be checked by Var, but Chris Wood profits from the ball cannoning off Scott Dann. The out of form striker pounced on the disposition of Kouyate and smashed the ball past the Eagles keeper. Sean Dyche rallies his man to continue their fast start!

It's a soulless stage tonight but we hope to see some familiar faces upon the end of lockdown 2.0!

18:22a day ago

Kick-off is imminent

Out of form Burnley will face a demanding test tonight when they welcome buoyant Crystal Palace.

If the visitors take points here, it'll be the first time in Burnley's history that they're unable to get a single win in their first four home league games of the season.

Roy Hodgson: Pre-match comments

"I haven't followed them too closely, but the couple of times I've seen them they've played well and been unlucky, "I'm sure they've got a pretty sanguine attitude and think the ball hasn't run their way. "I'm pretty certain they'll be relaxed about the situation. "Unless you've got the maximum 24 points from eight games, everybody will always want more points. "Burnley won't lose heart or give up. They'll see us coming up to Turf Moor as an opportunity to kickstart their season, and I'm hoping to scotch that."

Sean Dyche: Pre-match comments

“We're still searching for our first win, and we have to have that hunger and desire to get that, and not wait for it. "We have to make it happen, not wait for it, and we've spoken a lot with the players about that over the last few weeks." "They've had a good side the last few years, they have some very good players. ”They've been up and down a little bit, but that can happen in the Premier League. "They are a good outfit, a very experienced side that's for sure. "I've always thought they were a decent side, and Roy (Hodgson) and Ray (Lewington) know what they're doing, how to get the team organised, and operating at the right level.”
