Previous meeting

The last time these two sides met was back in February, where Crystal Palace edged out Newcastle by a goal to nil at Selhurst Park.

It took a stunning free-kick from former-Sunderland man Patrick Van Aanholt to break the deadlock, in a game where Toon goalkeeper Martin Dubravka made one of the saves of the season to deny Gary Cahill.

The victory for Palace saw them leapfrog Newcastle into 14th place in the league table.

Team news - Newcastle United

Steve Bruce said today in his pre-match media briefing that three Newcastle players are currently self-isolating, but did not reveal the identities of those who are.

Paul Dummett and Martin Dubravka remain ruled out and are not set to return to the side until the new year.

Andy Carroll is officially ruled out of this game with a calf injury.

Ryan Fraser will also not feature tomorrow as he is still recovering from a hamstring injury.

Club captain Jamaal Lascelles will be subject to a late fitness test to see if he will play tomorrow after picking up a thigh injury in the last game against Chelsea.

Similar to Lascelles, Dwight Gayle will also be subject to a fitness test to see if he will feature against his former club after returning from a knee injury which has kept him out since September.

Callum Wilson will be available for selection after overcoming a hamstring injury which ruled him out of last week's game at St James' Park.

Matt Ritchie will also return to the Newcastle side tomorrow after recovering from shoulder injury which has left him out of action for two months.

Luka Milivojevic has returned a negative test for COVID-19, but manager Roy Hodgson said that the midfielder will not be fit enough to face Newcastle tomorrow.

Wayne Hennessey, Nathan Ferguson and Connor Wickham remain ruled out with injuries that are set to keep them on the sidelines until the new year.

Magpies seeking an improvement

Newcastle United roll into Selhurst Park after two defeats in their last two league games.

The Magpies had just three shots on target during both of those defeats to Southampton and Chelsea - clear evidence that they must improve if they want to win tomorrow evening.

If Steve Bruce's men do reign victorious in the capital, they will jump up to as high as ninth in the Premier League table.

Palace looking to return to winning ways

Crystal Palace head into this fixture coming off a disappointing 1-0 away defeat to Burnley.

Roy Hodgson's men will be itching to pick up a win against Newcastle, to avoid two defeats in a week.

The South East Londoners currently occupy 11th place in the Premier League table, and could go as high as sixth if they grab all three points tomorrow.
