Wolverhampton Wanderers advance in round four of the Emirates FA Cup thanks due an Adama Traore wonder strike in the first half.

Traore scored his first goal in over a year to send Wolves through, as Palace failed to create anything substantial despite looking threatening in the second half.

Overall, a good win for Nuno's men, and perhaps more importantly, a goal for Adama which hopefully will see him regain his confidence and form.

The inevitable has happened and Wilfred Zaha has really sprung Palace into life, and they look dangerous going forward all of a sudden.

Ruben Neves has had the most touches of the football in this match, which just shows how much he has been on the ball. His passes have unlocked the Palace backline tonight, and offered Wolves so much from the switch of play.

20 minutes to go in this clash. The next goal is so important, and it could go to either side.

Wolves break with Traore down the right hand side, who picks out an unmarked Dendonker in the middle of the box. His flicked shot is straight at Jack Butland who has to react quickly to make a smart save.

Crystal Palace have come out for the second half with a spring in their step. They look much quicker in possession and have created a few half chances so far.

Fabio Silva tracks back and gives away a needless foul in a good area. The resulting free kick ends up in a Palace corner, which comes to nothing.

Corner crossed into the box from Pedro Neto, and it is met by Fabio Silva who heads just wide. He comes close again, the youngster.

Wolves go into the half time break with a 1-0 lead thank to Adama Traore and his beautiful strike. 

They could have had more if Fabio Silva scored early on, but overall Nuno will be happy with that.

As for Palace, they might have to look to the bench if they are to get anything from this game, as they have really struggled so far.

The home side are playing really well tonight. They have knocked the ball about at pace and with precision and have a deserved lead. Palace have struggled to get anything going really.

Adama Traore receives the ball from Ruben Neves, before cutting inside on his LEFT foot and rifling it past Jack Butland from the edge of the box. 

His first goal since December 2019!!

That will do his confidence the world of good.

ADAMA TRAORE BLASTS IT HOME!!

 

Half an hour gone at the Molineux and Wolves have been the dominant side so far. Palace look content to let Wolves have the ball and dominate possession. Wolves have made opportunities but have lacked the final product, something they have struggled with since losing Raúl.

Leander Dendonker fancies an effort from outside the box and takes it on, only to see it fly over the bar and into the empty stands.

25 minutes gone and Wolves have had 6 attempts so far. Promising signs for the home side.

Nelson Semedo breaks forward and strikes the ball low, which forces a good save from Butland. Palace are able to get back and crowd out Fabio Silva, who still gets his shot away which is saved by Butland again.

Moutinho is able to pick out Traore with a long diagonal pass and Adama cuts in on his left foot and shoot just wide of the left hand post.

Wolves looking the stronger side here.

A huge opportunity for Fabio Silva inside the 6 yard box, who heads over. 

Brilliant work from Pedro Neto to cross the ball in, but similar to Otasowie against Brighton, heads over.

Adama Traore has been Wolves' main threat so far tonight, with the overlapping Nelson Semedo. He wins a corner after a trademark mazey run.

Not long has gone in the game, but neither side have settled so far. Such an opportunity for Wolves to dispatch a big name and progress into the next round.

Crystal Palace have only won one game this calendar year which was last time out against winless Sheffield United. Eberechi Eze starred last time out and scored a brilliant solo goal.

He starts tonight, as well as Michy Batshuayi and Christain Benteke as attacking options for the visitors as they will try and break down the Wolves defence, which is full strength apart from John Ruddy.
