Mason Mount and Billy Gilmour

I wanted to take the weight of Mason's shoulders. Of course when I told them they were sure they could take it, but I wanted to give the responsibility to bit more experienced players. There is nothing to worry about. I like what I see from Mason so far, such a nice guy and competitive guy. He leaves his heart on the pitch and gives 100%.

For Billy, the same really. I have a good impression so far. He has a very high level of game understanding and is very clever in positioning. If he has the physical level to compete in the middle of the pitch then we will see.

Kante fit

Excited to work with him. He's back training today and I think he's the strongest in the heart of the game. For me he's best in a double '6' and we can use his range of ability and skill to keep the ball and win it back. He has big potential and is a world class player who played a crucial role in the World Cup win for France.

Changes against Wolves

It was an unfair line up. I had no reason why players who didn't play didn't start, because I only had one training session. I made the choices because of the experience the likes of Jorginho, Azpilicueta and Giroud in. It wasn't because of trust issues with the younger players, I will push them and no one should read too much into these changes last night

Pep Guardiola

I know Pep well, and I have spoken a lot with him since he has been at Manchester City and have followed the league very closely whilst working in Germany and France because it is the benchmark. I love the league because it brings the best from coaches and all the players. It brings out the best in me and I am very positive about it.

The challenge ahead

So many games in a short space of time is a big challenge. We miss the supporters and the energy. For me it's crucial to create a special atmosphere on a daily basis but due to the COVID situation we have to social distance and we cannot have everyone together at the same time and these little details make the difference to create a bond between the players.

Werner and Havertz

I love to work with young players, and academy players and we will push them to the limit. It was a bit strange to step up one day before the match and you already know a few players from previously, it makes it a bit easier.

What will be success?

Chelsea is about results. As managers, we always try to bring in performance, develop players and increase their value and put in strong performances. I'm in a club where it's in their DNA to challenge trophies and I am here to challenge in every trophy. This year is the Champions League and the FA Cup, the Premier League I think is unrealistic at this stage. We need to push everyone to their limit and make people excited to come to Stamford Bridge.

It's hard to judge for me right now. I'm very happy with what I've seen so far, we have 22 players and three goalkeepers and I have the feeling that right now that the guys deserve to be trusted. If the possibility comes to make us stronger, but I am sure we won't hesitate

Lampard sacking

A big disappointment for the fanbase to see Frank sacked, but I have huge respect for him. He was one of the key figures to demonstrate in 90 minutes what Chelsea was about. I have the biggest respect for him and his legacy, even more so when I receive a message from him this morning wishing me well. It's not my fault, the decision was made and I was handed the opportunity but I mean what I say when I say I have huge respect for him.

The 'revolving door'

I am absolutely grateful to be here. I signed on because we share the hunger for titles, to be absolutely competitive in every competition you play. It does not scare me, we have big ambitions and I am excited about the mixture of the team and the structure of the club. The first days have been amazing and I am aware that at some point everyone expects results

Why Chelsea?

Why not? It was the opportunity to manage one of the biggest clubs in the world in the most competitive leagues in the world. It was a chance I couldn't miss for the chance to compete with the best managers and the best clubs.
