Crystal Palace press conference LIVE: Roy Hodgson on Zaha, Eze & Leeds United preview

Hodgson confirms that he can return soon. However, Lewington's wife is still suffering from COVID. But Hodgson was keen to suggest that she is getting better. 

"There is a possibility we get him back for the Burnley game."

"It's a bit unusual. In the pervious three years we haven't had as much as i have experienced previously. It has cost us injuries."

 

"Not particularly. But I am not considering anything else."

"Everyone realises that you don't get any younger. The job is a very demanding job."

"First of all, I am delighted for him. We have tried to change him into a box-to-box midfield player."

"He has never complain about getting the chances that I am sure he felt he deserved."

"It's down to him realising that he has to replicate everything that they (McArthur & Milivojevic) are doing."

"Both games demanded a lot from us. That does help with the confidence, but you can't live on the good moments." 

"I think he is ready. That's the area of the field where the competition has been the most fierce."

 

Hodgson has also confirmed that Ward & McArthur could be avaliable for Leeds on Monday. 

"We wont have a full bench of senior players. If we want to fill the bench, we will have to use the Under 23's."

Hodgson confirms that Wilfried Zaha has suffered a hamstring injury. 

"We never know. It is a muscle strain. I wouldn't like to place a time scale on it."

The Palace boss has sat down to face questions from the broadcast section first. 

Hodgson is set to face questions from the media on Zoom, ahead of Monday's trip to Leeds United. 

Palace are on the currently enjoying a fruitful spell in the Premier League with back-to-back wins. 

However, with the loss of Wilfried Zaha on Tuesday, it is set to be another tricky period of the Eagles. 

We will also find out the extent of that injruy this afternoon.
