Tottenham face a trip to Fulham on Thursday and Burnley host Leicester on Wednesday.

A completely different Spurs side to the team who have been falling short for results in the league, a strong start and performance throughout the game sees Tottenham beat Burnley again in London.

 

Burnley conceded early on and failed to really come into the game. Nick Pope made some great saves to keep the scoreline low, but it wasn't enough.

 

Tottenham will need to build on this performance if they want top four, whereas Burnley will need to put this performance behind them quickly with difficult games on the horizon.

A man of the match performance from Gareth Bale as the welshman helps the team to a 4-0 victory. Goals from Kane, Bale (2) and Lucas see Tottenham to a comfortable victory.

Alderweireld blocks the corner.

Burnley have a corner but Tottenham win back. The hosts counter but Lamela has a heavy touch and loses control.

Rodriguez hits the crossbar for Burnley but the referee blows for a foul.

Lamela wins the hosts a free kick.

Kane makes a pass for Son but Son shoots with too much power.

Son looks to release Kane but Lowton makes a good tackle to stop Kane in his track.

Doherty replaces Aurier and Cork is replaced by Stephens.

Burnley have a chance that is deflected into the hands of Lloris.

Another fine save by Pope. Dele passes to Son who has a shot.

Wood replaces Vydra.

Kane chance but Pope makes a great save to keep the ball out for a corner.

A fantastic afternoon for Bale with two goals and an assist. Lamela is brought on in replace of the winger.

Vydra has a chance on goal but Lloris makes a good save.

Lucas Moura makes way for Dele Alli. 

Burnley have a free kick but Sanchez makes another good defensive save.

Vydra has a chance but a fantastic block from Sanchez keeps it out.

First Tottenham corner is taken by Son who crosses to Reguilon on the outside of the box but his shot was not on target.

Vydra has a chance but he failed to anticipate the ball, there was no control and the ball went over the crossbar.

Bale scores his second of the afternoon after Son finds him unmarked.

Kane crosses the ball but failed to find Lucas.

Burnley get us underway

Tottenham have been threatening everytime they go forward and the hosts take full advantage of that scoring three in the first half. Goals from Bale, Kane and Lucas.

The hosts need to come out in the second half and build on their performance, it is a long way back for the visitors but Tottenham have lost points despite leading 3-0 already this season. 

Burnley win a free kick after a foul committed by Alderweireld. The free kick fails to find a Burnley player but Rodriguez has a shot but Lloris saves well to take Tottenham into the lead at the break.

Aurier has a shot but it goes over the crossbar. Two minutes of added time.

Lowton crosses the ball but Tottenham win possession back.

Reguilon charges forward but his cross failed to find a Spurs player in the box.

Reguilon is fouled by Lowton to win Tottenham the free kick.

Aurier charges forward and finds Lucas, his shot goes out for a goal kick.

A cross from Reguilon finds Lucas in the box who fires into the back of the net. Tottenham are running riot.

Westwood to Lowton but the defender miss hit the ball.

Bale has a great chance on his left foot but the forward missed the target.

Encouraging chance for Burnley but Vydra fails to find the target.

Ndombele tries to pick out Bale but the Welshman was just short of hitting the ball.

Burnley have a corner conceded by Reguilon but the cross goes over Mee.

Tottenham look like a threat everytime they go forward. Gareth Bale with the assist this time as he makes a wonderful pass to Kane who runs forward with the ball beforefinding the back of the net.

Aurier crosses the ball but it is defended well by Mee.

Bale, Son and Kane link up again but the pass was just behind Kane.

Lucas has a chance after a lovely pass from Son but Pope kept it out. 

Rodriguez has a shot but Lloris makes a routine save.

Brownhill tries to catch Lloris off his line but he fails to find the back of the target.

Kane makes a good run and gets a shot off that just goes wide. Tottenham have started well.

Tottenham lead after 72 seconds. A cross from Son into the box finds Bale who sends the ball into the back of the net.

Burnley are unchanged from their draw against West Brom last weekend.

Tottenham make three changes from the team who lost to West Ham with Tanganga, Dier and Lamela making way for Alderweireld, Lucas and Bale.

Burnley have failed to win a top flight of football in London against Tottenham since October 1974. 

Tottenham last lost to Burnley in London in 1983 in the league cup and Burnley have beaten today's hosts once in 10 games, back on 23 February 2019.

Chris Wood is expected to be available after six games out with a hamstring injury. 

Ashley Barnes remains sidelined with a thigh injury.

Dale Stephens returns to the team from injury, but Burnley are still expected to be without Johann Berg Gudmundsson, Robbie Brady and Erik Pieters.

Serge Aurier is expected to be available for selection against Burnley after being out injured for a few weeks.

Tottenham are currently in 9th in the Premier League fighting for top four, with Burnley in 15th. 

Spurs have lost their last four in five in the league with Burnley drawing three, losing one and winning one.

In the return leg in October, today's hosts won by a tight margin with the dynamic duo of Heung Min-son and Harry Kane linking up to score the only goal of the game.
