The game ends 3-0 and Arsenal collect all three points on the road. It turned out to be a comfortable victory for the Gunners, carving Sheffield United open on numerous occasions. The home-side did very little to disrupt their visitors, and were played off the park.

The result all but confirms Sheffield United's relegation, and they played like a side who knew they had nothing left to play for. Arsenal will be hoping to take this form in to their vital Europa League quarter-final against Slavia Prague on Thursday.

First booking of the game as Mari goes into the book. Just prior to that, Sheffield United worked the ball well and put a decent ball into the box that McBurnie could not get on the end off. McBurnie has now gone down and Lys Mousset is ready to replace him.

Excellent defending by Ampadu as Chambers puts a delicious cross into the box. The Welsh defender makes a vital interception to stop it reaching Lacazette, who would have been destined to put it in the net and kill the game.

Does a win keep survival hopes alive?

Sheffield United could be officially relegated next week (if results go against them). And whilst they have been down for many since Christmas, this season has arguably been the most unpredictable, crazy Premier League season ever. A win  today probably only means relegation is delayed by a week, but you never know in the Premier League...

Last fixture

The reverse fixture took place on the 4th October 2020, with the home side on that occasion getting all 3 points. A quiet first half suddenly, the game suddenly burst into life with 3 goals in 2 minutes from Arsenal. Wonderboy Bukayo Saka opened the scoring on the 61st minute, and that was swiftly followed by Nicolas Pepe to seemingly wrap up the points for Arsenal.

There was a late scare however, as David McGoldrick pulled one back for The Blades with 10 minutes to go to set-up a nervy finish. The home side held on for victory however, and meant Sheffield United remained without a point, a run that would not be broken till much later in the season.

Mikael Arteta expects tough game

"What they do every week. A team that has a big commitment, a team that fights in every single game which is not easy for the opponent, and we will face a difficult game again. We have no time to recover or prepare for the game, so we know what we are going to be facing. "

Paul Heckingbottom hopes to target Arsenal at the back

"We will obviously try to, we have seen a few changes in their game, sometimes they go short, but they have also started going a bit long.

We have to prepare for both. If we have to press high we have to be ready for that, if they are going to take that option away and go longer than we have to be ready for that.

You have to accept that Arsenal are going to get through you, they do that every time - people will always highlight the negatives but they create a lot of chances at the top end of the pitch."

Arsenal: Team news

Arsenal will be hoping Real Madrid loanee Martin Odegaard is fully fit. The Gunners missed his creative flair midweek against Slavia Prague. Kieran Tierney, who injured himself last week against Liverpool, is likely to miss the rest of the season with knee ligament damage, and will be a huge blow for the visitors.

Sheffield United: Team news

No new injury concerns for temporary boss Paul Heckingbottom. Jack O'Connell and Jack Robinson remain sidelined, whilst Sander Berge could return to the squad after missing most of the season. The Blades have missed is calmness and composure in midfield.
