FINAL-TIME: Burnley FC 1-2 West Ham United

Not quite 1-6, but still a very good result for the Hammers.

No goals in the second half meaning that Chris Wood and Michail Antonio remain as the only goalscorers of the match.

West Ham are now back up to fifth in the Premier League table, Burnley remain 16th.

90' Jesse Lingard with a great chance but Pope matched his shot with a brilliant reaction save.

85' We're into the final stage of the game, it's still 1-2 to West Ham.

I think it's safe to say that unfortunately, it won't finish 1-6.

Ashley Barnes is on for Chris Wood. And also, for the Hammers, Jarrod Bowen replaced Said Benrahma.

74' West Ham are pushing on Burnley's door now.

First, Antonio just missed the goal after a great pass through the lines by Benrahma and just seconds later Aaron Cresswell's cross (?) omitted Nick Pope's far post by centimetres.

Meanwhile, Dwight McNeil has been replaced by Johann Berg Gudmundsson.

64' Oh wow.

Jay Rodriguez, the first substitute of the game, after a bundle inside the box, missed the goal from five yards out.

He should've done much better with that chance.

63' Benrahma with another great cross but this time Craig Dawson headed it straight at Pope.

Even if he scored, he was offside, but it was a very good cross nonetheless.

54' Michail Antonio, how?

Great work from Fornals to find the striker in front of an open net, but he somehow managed to kick the ball into his standing foot.

Yeah, I don't know either.
20:237 months ago
47' How is that not 1-3?

Past Fornals skipped past one of the defenders on the halfway line, played the ball to Antonio but the striker awfully misplaced his pass towards Benrahma and it was cleared.

He has to do better there.

46' And we're back underway.

No changes to either side at half-time.

HALF-TIME: Burnley FC 1-2 West Ham United

Aaand breathe...

A Michail Antonio brace followed Chris Wood's early penalty as the Hammers comfortably look to extend their advantage, and will continue to do so in the next 45 minutes.

1-6 can still happen. I believe.

32' Oh stop that, Said.

The forward has dribbled past two players and his shot just skimmed past the far post.

GOAL: Burnley 1-2 West Ham

Said Benrahma back in the starting XI and back among the contributions. An absolutely stunning cross from the Algerian skipped past four Burnley defenders before arriving at Antonio's feet, and he just couldn't miss from there.

West Ham are now in front!

GOAL: Burnley 1-1 West Ham

Oh yes, yes they can!

A fantastic cross from Vladimir Coufal found Antonio between two defenders and the returnee headed the ball into the back of the net to level!

1-6 is still on the cards. Come on.

GOAL: Burnley 1-0 West Ham

And, well, as I said so in the pre-match "Player to watch" bit.

Chris Wood scores a penalty after a very rush challenge from Soucek.

Can West Ham respond?
19:287 months ago
12' And as soon I said something, West Ham were in a brilliant chance to open the scoring.

Antonio was in great space to shoot or pass to open teammates but his decision making left a lot to be desired on this occasion.

Burnley didn't clear well, but Manuel Lanzini's shot from the edge of the box was just too high.
19:277 months ago
10' Well, erm. Nothing has happened so far.

West Ham with two shots - one widely off target by Michail Antonio and one header from Tomas Soucek that landed in Nick Pope's hands.

Burnley with none.

Player to watch

Due to the social media boycott, there haven't been many updates available regarding potential team selections or fitness situations of players who have been deemed as close to returning to action.

But we know that Chris Wood is fit, and firing. The 28-year-old has now six goals in as many games, and will most certainly be looking to extend his goalscoring form - especially having a great record against West Ham, with six goals and one assist in nine appearances.

Previous encounters

The look of previous meetings between the two clubs should point to a comfortable win for the Hammers. Despite losing four out of the six most recent matchups, they still hold the upper hand as out of the previous twelve games they've won seven, with one game ending in a draw.

In their latest meeting, West Ham beat Burnley by a single Michail Antonio goal, at the London Stadium.

Current form

After suffering two straight losses, for the first time this season, against Chelsea FC and Newcastle United, the visitors, West Ham, will be most certainly looking to bounce back as their European hunt continues.

On the other hand, the hosts, thanks to a masterclass performance from Chris Wood, had comfortably beaten a much-weakened Wolverhampton Wanderers side by four goals to nil. And that result ended their bad run of form dating back to February, as prior they've only managed two wins from ten fixtures.
