Final Thoughts

Well that is that! A disappointing afternoon for Wolves but an important win for Tottenham as they look to secure a credible finish to revive their flagging season.

Harry Kane and Hojbjerg impressed for Tottenham, whilst Conor Coady put in a man of the match performance for the losing side; the captain notably deflecting a looping cross away from the line of the Wolves goal.

That's all from us at VAVEL! Enjoy your weekend and the rest of the weekend of exhilarating football!

Wolves fail to impress

Wolves put in a really poor offensive shift and offered mere flashes of attacking intent throughout the match.

Adama Traore was lively but failed to offer a finishing touch to compliment his dynamic passing, whilst Fabio Silva failed to ignite his role as talisman.

15:59a month ago

A big three points

Harry Kane and Pierre Hojbjerg played the most definitive part for Tottenham as they move up to sixth in the Premier League.

Seventh place offers continental football next season through the inception of the Europa Conference League, so sixth place is needed for a higher level of European football.

Kick-off Imminent

Kick-off is only 15 minutes away! The teams have been out warming up and will return to the field shortly.

Will Spurs prevail in their continental chase, or will Wolves continue to enjoy their time away to today's opposition?

13:37a month ago

Contrasting Importance

Wolves' season has largely finished competitively, with little to play for and a top-half finish almost certainly out of their reach.

A win for Spurs would take them above West Ham and into sixth place and one point behind Liverpool, who play West Bromwich Albion later today.

13:28a month ago

Kane to make the difference?

Harry Kane has been simply astounding this season. 21 goals and 13 assists in the league leaves Kane as the top scorer - along with Mo Salah - as well as the leading playmaker.

It may be his moment of magic that unlocks the Wolves defence today.

13:25a month ago

Home joy for Spurs

Tottenham have won five of their past six home fixtures and will hope to continue the good vein of form against Wolves, who have caused the London club a few issues away from home since their return to the Premier League in 2019.
13:20a month ago

Defensive reinforcements reintegrated

Willy Boly and Marcal both find themselves back in Nuno Espirito Santo's squad after setbacks relating to Covid-19 and injury respectively.

A starting place comes too soon for the pair though, for the bench will have to do for now.

13:16a month ago

Just one change from Mason

Tottenham's 3-1 defeat at the hands of Leeds United was a sucker punch to their seasonal aspirations; the side were simply outclassed by the high-flying newcomers.

Just the one change though from interim coach Ryan Mason, with Japhet Tanganga replacing Serge Aurier in defence.

13:14a month ago

A recall for Adama

After a lengthy period devoid of goals and assists, Adama Traore is back firing with two goals and assists apiece in his last six appearances.

Traore had gone the entire league season without either beforehand!

"Of course, since I've been here as a player, over the past 10 to 15 years, the chairman has done an incredible job in taking the football club to the next level and the fact that we're sitting here now saying we expect Champions League, that's what we want and expect, I think that goes to say that the expectations within the club and outside it.

"I've said it all along, we want to focus our attention on winning as many games from now until the end of the season. We had a bit of a dent last weekend and we have to bounce back and win this weekend. It's a big game."
